And in other news, no one cares.

I only saw the last four games so I thought I'd wait for someone who saw more to make the thread, but no one did. Maybe because San Jose isn't "real tennis."

Vamos.

Well at least Fiasco didn't choke

I had my eye on Fiasco in the San Jose draw. There was a good chance of a mugout

Some people mistake the Distant Sun for an eternally raging fireball calling for your demise. Just like aliens from outer space. Aliens from other planets. Aliens in galaxies too far away from your own comprehension. Your demise is ultimately irrelevant and meaningless.

Do not question our motives, our objectives, or our qualities. Question your own place in the universe.

I am always bewildered how established players lose to Smyczek. Guy literally has zero weapons. Didn't watch the match but Nando must have been spraying unforced errors all over the place...

I remember the 09 AO SF and had such mammoth hopes for Verdasco.

Me too. A shame he never managed to build on that performance.

Verdasco has probably gone to the dogs game-wise, I guess he can go back banging models now... not that there's anything wrong with that

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Re: San Jose R1: (Q) T. Smyczek def (5) F. Verdasco 6-3, 6-3

Smyczek has been playing pretty well since the latter part of last year...That match against Ferrer at the AO wasn't too shabby from what I saw either...He will break the Top 100 for the first time in his career with a few more wins...Doesn't have much to defend this year at all either...Should make a dent in the Top 100 if he keeps this up which is surprising considering I pretty much thought of him as a journeyman...Seems like a hardworking nice guy, though...Much preferred over those brats named Harrison and Sock

Mugdasco is shit, so no loss of his surprises me especially since he lost last year to some dude ranked 400 or 500 in the first round of whatever Challenger that was

Tim might play Dr. Ivo again in the 2R; probably should be able to beat him again, too

NID, could smell this coming from a mile away. Fiasco's failure against anyone, is not even surprising anymore.
