Re: Sao Paulo courts and balls in bad condition

I could understand playing doubles in Chile just to get back into the swing of things. But he got to the finals in singles and doubles there, I think that's enough. Really don't understand why he's playing doubles again this week.

Re: Sao Paulo courts and balls in bad condition

I think tonight broke the record for a first round match for doubles and probably singles for an ATP 250 event. I was there in person and the arena was full, there was almost 10 thousand people to see the doubles match of Nadal and Nalbandian. Every match of Nadal will probably be packed and this is an Arena made to host around 10 thousand people. There is enough demand in Sao Paulo to easily host an ATP 500 or MS. I do hope they fix this issues with the court, last year it was no complains that I remember and it was in the same place. It should be the respsonsability of the ATP to set up the parameters and standards of the court.

Money, my dear, like I mention on the previous post, almost 10 thousand paying tickets today to see Nadal show up to play doubles, plus sponsors money and exposure for them. I read reports that Nadal got a cache of about 500- 1 million just to come play in Brazil. People thinking Nadal came to chill out. There is some serious public for Tennis here in Sao Paulo.

Federer played some exbitions here last year along with Tsonga, Sharapova, Wozniack etc. Reports were that Federer got about 3 million just from that. Some people have a small scope of what the Brazilian consumer market is nowadays. The only reason Brazil doesn't have greater and more events is lack of availability from the ATP.

This is the same Arena, and how it looked today for a single first round doubles match of Nadal:

well, money, OK. as if he doesn't have enough. Kat is right. Is Rafa concerned more about his health or money. How much more money does he need? Yes, it's a great arena, yes, I'd love to see Rafa/Nalbandian playing doubles, but still ... playing doubles is just silly.

It also held the challenger YEC on hard didn't it?

Good for Team Nadal, something more for them to whine about.

Educating MTF clowns one post at a time.
So many fanboys to troll, so little time.

Favourite tennis matches: 2011 US Open Final & 2012 Australian Open Final, starring Novak Djokovic & Rafael Nadal, showing us just how far science can take humanity.

The US Open Final was especially enjoyable, with 'Why are there white spots all over my body?' Djokovic and 'Why am I sweating boils?' Nadal embarked on a titanic battle, concluding with the inferior player, Nadal, entering a sort of delirious state of psychosis. This allowed him to, while showing very little fatigue, consume inhuman amounts of energy, before he literally ran his legs from underneath him. This is truly the stuff dreams are made of.

I don't think he should be playing if the court is not ok.

Nadal :

"The problem is not the court. The problem is the ball which is very bad,"

"the conditions are very difficult. The court is very fast, the ball too.

chides the holy devil ATP for that obviously

Ahahah, now we see the real problem - fast court/balls.
