As for Mareilles, no it's not going to get better. Hanescu didn't even get into the tournament in Marseilles, he's first in the alternate list. Though I think there is a player in the Marseilles entry list that is actually worse than Hanescu with Bautista-Agut, so I guess there is still a small chance that Janowicz could get a better draw there...
He could also get a crappy WC or qualy.

That was a stupid statement and you're just getting the mocking that you deserve.
I agree with everything in your post although I suspect JamieMU30 "lost it" some time ago.

Janowicz's ranking is down to a good run in Paris and some weak challenger wins. He still has to prove he can win consistently throughout the year.

Horrible result for tennis. These courts should suit Janowicz!

Marseilles is in France, safe to say that most of the WCs are going to be better indoor players than Hanescu. Monfils, Mannarino, De Schepper, is Mahut injured these days? Qualifiers are a toss-up.

Was this televised? Does anyone have a perspective on what actually happened in the match other than this senseless drivel that's been thrown around in the thread?

de Schepper has just 1 ATP win in 8 matches, don't think he'll provide a challenge, other than qualifying for the AO on an easy draw, Mannarino has been crap lately.

Last year the WC's were Clement, Serra and Mathieu, so not exactly great indoors players.

If Janowicz couldn't even win a set against Hanescu then I don't think Federer had anything to worry about.
