Vina del Mar SF: Zeballos def. Berlocq 6-3 7-6(4)

Zeballos won it against all odds (was the underdog, faced Berlocq in one of Charly's most successful tournament, was demolished in MTF WWW pool 0:10).

A great season for him so far. TOP50 on Monday, #16 in Race Ranking.

Not a bad tournament for Charly as well. Defended most of the points from last year and finally won a couple of matches against solid opponents. Hopefully we'll see more of that in the Golden Swing.

Berlocq was shocking in that tiebreak after working so hard to get there

Zeballos played well but Berlocq's 'strategy' was awful... took him a set and a half to realize he had to attack Horacio's BH and not just try to outgrind him. So much gifting and frustrating to watch from the start.

that was shocking upset indeed...Warlocq was toying and teasing with his opponent until the bitter end, when his glorious BH pass sailed agonizingly long. Charly might have lost the match, but he is a victor in our hearts forever BAMOS!!

Disastrous tie-break from Berlocq after working really hard to come back from a break down twice in the set.

Great week for Zeballos included past victories over Ramos Vinolas and Andujar . Today he played in a great level with sharp crosscourt backhands and forehands that forced Berlocq to remain in a defensive position during most of the match. Berlocq could never got in control of the match. Zeballos could had closed it early but played badly the key points but was enough to win it in two sets. First ATP final since St Petersburg 2009 and back to the top 50 . Great start of the year for him

In all honesty, Charly pretty much allowed him to attack a lot and do damage specially with the FH. once Berlocq saw himself against the ropes and started playing more aggressively, he totally exposed Zeballos' inconsistency with his BH and took the control off him. too bad that happened that late in the match, momentum was on his side for the TB and didn't take advantage of it. props to Zeba though, served great today and kept his UE count quite low.

Good tank from Charly. I love his generosity.

Warlocq wins at life. Not much more to it.

They're great friends, Charly though Zeballos needed a good run to get his confidence back.
