Zagreb SF: (4) Melzer def Haase 7-6 (2) 6-3

First set was great quality, Melzer played a really good match. The Melzer of old was on display here. From losing to two players below 100 in the world last week to making a final this one.

almost Memphis-like Melzer showed up today, returning from the baseline and serving ok.
hope he can't build from this.

Melzer has had an easy draw, and taken advantage of it, trying to not get my hopes up too high, as his results have been all over the place lately, if he beats Cilic though, that would be great.

All four semi finalists had pretty easy draws, actually. Quite a weak event in general.

Youzhny had to play Dodig, which can be tough, and Haase had to pass Klizan.
