Re: 2013 MTF Top 10 Favourite Active Players Thread (3rd update in post #390)
1 Tommy Haas- Huge amount of heart to keep returning. Beautiful game, nice guy, and amazing comeback
2 Albert Montanes- Seems to be becoming a mental giant again. Very very emotional, nice and interesting game with lots of drop shots and a one and two handed backhand.
3 David Ferrer- Like him more and more. Emotional, hard-working, fighter. If only he'd choke less
4 Lleyton Hewitt- My favorite #1 ever, last top player with a real personality. Glad he keeps sticking around
5 Jurgen Melzer- Good to see him coming back a bit. Lovely game with all kinds of variety. Emotional guy on court
6 Olivier Rochus- Clearly the end of the line for Rochus this year, but still love him and his game
7 Nikolay Davydenko- In decline now, but one of my favorite games to watch in his prime. Super funny off court.
8 Julien Benneteau- Like him more and more. Emotional and (though I think I'm alone in this view) top 3 or 4 favorite players to watch on game alone.
9 Marcel Granollers- Grunt aside, I like Marcel. Lots of variety, changes his game to fit surface, emotional, good at singles and doubles. Plus I am 80% sure I saw him on the street in Barcelona.
10 Benjamin Becker- Wish he'd suck less this year, but he's still nice to watch when he's on, his serve at 5'10 is incredible.
Those I didn't put here in level 1 of my sig: Tipsarevic has really turned me off with a couple instances of strategic MTOs (retiring all the time doesn't bother me, that does), Janowicz is still too unknown an entity for me, and I can't get past Monaco liking Nadal.
Matosevic, Hanescu, Lorenzi, Kukushkin, Chiudinelli, Gulbis, Bozoljac, Gabashvili, Hernych, Brown, Garcia-Lopez, Rosol, Zeballos, Istomin, Kohlschreiber, Tursunov, Robert, Gonzalez, Monaco, Thiem, Seppi
