JMDP won a GS at his 20 something that will never achieve your idol.

Regarding to the topic: He needs to win some M1000 to get confident and then think about a GS.

Exactly. Del Potro is a fluke and always will be. He might win a masters some time, but that's it. No other big titles for him.

ANDY MURRAY

SLAMS: 3 WINS, 8 finals, 9 semi-finals, 7 quarter-finals...
MASTERS: 12 WINS, 5 finals, 13 semi-finals, 18 quarter-finals...
WTF: 3 semi-finals...
OTHER: Olympic gold and silver medals, Davis Cup champion...

Re: Okay, Delpo can win another GS, right?

Ah the rehashing of this topic The search button is a neglected took here. I am a fan of his so I hope he wins another. Can't quite predict his 2013 having only watched him play one tournie where he did not make it to the QFs. He looks like he has put on even more poundage this year and for a tall guy I question whether or not that will hamper his movement. And he needs to work on his volleys big time. He needs to shorten the points more for some surfaces and shorten his time spent on court. He just doesn't have the stamina he had in 2008-2009. And then I noted he was coming to the net more and he had great confidence and he weighed less.

The great thing about democracy is that it gives every voter a chance to do something stupid.

So probably. I mean Nadal's knees are starting to suggest a slow death in his career, Federer isn't getting any younger and Del Potro's best is probably better than Murray's. That leaves Djokovic, and he can't win them all.
Murray at his peak (Shanghai 2010, Olympics 2012) would beat easily the better Del Potro (US Open 2009), something like 6-2 6-3...

Re: Okay, Delpo can win another GS, right?

Did anybody expect him to win USO'09 before the tournament started? No. He surprised everybody by demolishing Rafa in the SF and then coming back from 2:1 sets down in the final against Fed.

So, who is to say it can't happen again?

RAFAEL NADAL and GRIGOR DIMITROV

Rafa winning at least one slam in 10 consecutive years is the best achievement in Open Era tennis since Laver won all 4 Grand slam tournaments in the same year!

That was in response to comparing Murray's best and Delpo's best, not current form.

Andy would still beat him there. It wouldn't be in straights but Andy would win.

It's all hypothetical. Let's hope Delpo finds that 2009 form and if they meet at the USO we'll see. It will be a close match.

Delpo is much more talented than that OBE bloke.Delpo has a forehand.Delpo is a gentleman on the court and can be a role model for little kiddies, unlike certain hooligan.Delpo has a chance to win at least one more Grand Slam.
