Does Rafa have a dignity or whatsoever? He is #5 not #105 what the hell is he doing there ? Looking for money, points or glory ?
I don't know if you knew, but he didn't play tennis for the last 8 months.

Maybe it has something to do with that .

he was asked nicely by Lenders and Certify to help them prevent the usual vulturing on South American clay swing

Amazing scenes.

It does not matter . It looks like someone who is at 30 to kill a kid 5 years old.He knows that very well even Monfils had more dignity than Nadal and Monfils is #80 not #5. If you a real man and champion as Rafa should be you will not going to do that,You need to have a heart and a bit brain for that

Actually, Nadal had announced plans to fill his schedule with more clay tournaments well before anyone knew he would be out as long as he was.

nothing very clear imo : still now the last words we heard from Toni would be that he would play hardcourt tournaments as much as before, and then so far what I can see is only an adding of tournaments. Besides, Nadal's entourage's communication is used to talking a lot for very little in reality.

And the announcement that he would play Acapulco was made in the end of last year, and that he would play Vina and Sao Paulo very few weeks ago.

!Bamo! . Or something.
A Nadal run to the title is a foregone conclusion. Its pointless to sling mud at each other over something like that.
The only remaining question is how many games will he lose ?
I predicted less than 20.
SO he needs to win the next three matches for the loss of less than 14 games..

Strong start from Nadal after recovering from a non-existent injury. Vamos!

Rafa wants no more talk about his knees anymore (you know, until he loses again)

I don't even know what to say, please don't make me give a detailed explanation on why Nadal's decision to play the Golden Swing is the best one he could have made.

- knees: start playing on clay (there's no big clay tournaments this month)
- points: needed to get back inside the top4 (has basically 3 free slots, only 45 pts from Halle)

But no athlete had the year Novak Djokovic had. No athlete was as consistently superb, January through November. No athlete was as complete in all the aspects of his or her game (...) the best on all surfaces: indoors and out, hardcourt, clay, and grass. No athlete, week in and week out, faced the level of competition he did: men’s professional tennis, as gets said at the start of every big televised match—because it’s true—is in a golden age. (...) And while Federer had some year (2006), he accumulated only about half the A.T.P. point total Djokovic just amassed.

Let's hope he'll be in old man's quarter at RG.

The umpire was Carlos Bernardes, that is an experienced guy whom Rafa quite likes, good choice if it had been necessary.

I hope Nadal can keep on like that, but we will see when Nadal has to face an opponent who makes him less relaxed.

Yesterday, he started very relaxed even though less after 0-2 0*-30.

Delbonis started well (Nadal was actually playing very short) but then made too many easy errors whereas Nadal was far from his level in the first set.

Nadal started the second set very well and it was over.
Bernardes is as good as a donkey for keeping top players in check.

Probably more like 2 hours.
