Zagreb R1: Devvarman def. Berrer 0-6 7-6(6) 4-1 ret.

Berrer retired because he was pissed, not injured. In the TB he had 2-0,at 6-6 he missed a relatively easy volley after he set up the point perfectly, then made an UE to lose the set.At *2-1 40-30 in the third for Devvarman,a FH from him was clearly long but the umpire,Murphy, didn't overrule and Berrer was furious. Then he lost serve to love and just retired immediately.
I have to say,if anyone is to be called a pusher it's Devvarman, basically every single point he won in the third set was after Berrer made an UE.Disgusting.

Berrer for years plays good only at Zagreb - two finals and and one semi.
Seems like that's his last year in ATP. Daniel Brands might be the better version of Berrer.

Devarman is a nightmare. I play these type of guys at USTA 4.0 level. He returns everything and runs all over the court like the energizer bunny. Jerzy Jankowitz went ballistic playing him at the Australian Open and was lucky to get through in five sets. Berrer is the type of player, with a short fuse, to let Devarmann's style piss him off. The way he plays is not good for Devarmann in the big picture, though, because he has to work so hard to win.

Devvarmug is the worst thing ever to happen to tennis. Luckily the USTA and US media forgot about him, but the danger always exists that we are forced to watch the #1 pusher in history

A bagel, a comeback, a tiebreak, and a retirement.

Both men are legends
