Zagreb R1: Kavčič def. Bedene 6-7(5) 6-3 6-3

The guy who was sick defeats the "injured" one. Kavčič served for the 1st set but failed. Thankfully he broke for the match. Kavčič serving out sets and matches can be comedy capers.

At least a Slovenian will be in the 2nd round.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

I was confident Kavcic would win this and I'm glad he did. Well done Blaz.

That's karma for being too injured to play Davis cup and too healthy to skip an ATP tourney the next day.

Playing 3 sets against Viola is karma enough.

That "stupid clay courter" just reached the 3rd round of the AO last month.

I know. You can have success with a boring play style.

A win-win situation

I expected Bedene to win this, but I'll take it.

This was a nice match.A lot of crowd came in in the third set, after the match on CC was over,it was good atmosphere with both players wanting this a lot, fighting, and the crowd mainly on Bedene's side because most of the people bet on him. Bedene clearly is a player with better technique, better serve, goes for more, but man Kavcic can retrieve and run down some really tough balls, and there were some long and entertaining rallies in the third set.
