I've used up my emoticon allowance and care little for prudish wimbledon etiquette. No need to state the obvious and I understand your point, but we may have a different approach.

Njegos is my idol and he inspires my actions in the real world.

Re: How many more slams will Federer win?

I really don't know, after all who won his in slam in the last 2 years? Nole, Andy, rafa, Jo and birdy - all top players and now that he is n2 I think if in RG he will be in Andy's half be sure he will make a F while nole and rafa will have a war to the F and either of them will be good

If nole will win great, fed knows how to play v nole in RG he won nole when he was at his best and nole win fed last year so I think both have a great chance.
If rafa will win then nothing new under the sun, fed v rafa, most chances rafa will win but maybe fed win gave a few angels around him lol

Best of luck, why go to negative talks, I hope he will win 3 so it will be a beautiful 20, if he won't win nothing wrong with it, in still veryyyyyy happy with 17 slams!!!!!

Re: How many more slams will Federer win?

He has a good chance to win more slams, and the logic for this is extremely simple. In fact, just pretend that right now he's never won a slam.

And the logic is.....

ANY PLAYER WHO IS CONSISTENTLY MAKING QF AND SF OF SLAMS HAS A GOOD CHANCE OF WINNING AT LEAST ONE.

The only person he has a chance against is Nole....but to get to him he'll have to square off against either Mighty Murray or Nadal. And if he is to win it it will have to be this year or never. It's impossible. He is too old for these battles.
How to beat Murray? Have as much energy left after the early rounds, then do something like W last year. Murray can hope for wind, Fed for rain, no matter what we get both will have chances.

Nadal is a long shot for reaching the QF, given his weakness on grass. If he reaches the earth part of the tournament he'll be dangerous, still, likely less so this year than previous ones. Noone else has managed to be at his best just five months after a seven-month enforced break. We're all interested to see if Nadal will prove the exeption, but not even his fans expect it. At least not the realisticly inclined ones.

Weakness on grass? Now I've heard it all 3 time finalist. 2 time winner. Other than Fed who's had better grass court record in the past decade

Try reading the whole post. I said weakness of grass, not earth. All his good Wimbledon match wins have been on earth - the grass being worn away by then. Give him a dangerous opponent in the early rounds and he's in trouble.

But for Federer the guy would have 4 Wimbledons by now. Try processing that. Reaching 5 finals at Wimbledon must tell you that more often than not the guy gets through the early rounds just fine. Rosol was a freakish exception. Don't read a lot into that. Julien nearly took Fed out early on as well. Shit happens. The fact of the matter is that Fed is done beating Nadal at any slam. That's the truth.

I don't know why anyone bothers adding captions like "That's the truth" when talking about future events. I can only presume you want not to be taken seriously.

As for Nadal and grass, he lost to Müller and Rosol in R2, he would have lost to Youzhny in R4 2007 but for the Russian injuring himself halfway through, he was in severe difficulties against Kendrick in R2 2006, Haase R2 and Petszchner R3 in 2010. Sure, Federer has also had troubles against Falla and Benneteau, but those are the only two five-setters before the QF for him since he beat Sampras in 2001. So it's obvious which of the two is best week one. In week two, the difference becomes much smaller.

Yup, could be a slam every year until he retires or no more finals at all, depends very much on his condition and the draws, i.e. avoiding long and tiresome matches before the semis

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Re: How many more slams will Federer win?

I fear he won't win another. Its possible that he might not make another final. Although he looked more than OK at Aus Open and that was probably his worst shot at a slam this year.

(Now go on Federer please make me eat these words. I really like the idea of his last slam being a record breaking Wimbledon title)
