Yes. And he showed improvement not only in final. He played well at net during whole AO
Watch again his match against Wawrinka. He really won some difficult net points, has made some great volley drop shots, backhand volleys and didn't make his usual crazy errors.

I think he seems to be going in the right direction, trying to take advantage of his good approach shots more and finishing points off at net. Well I hope so anyway.
