Re: Will John Isner ever win anything big?

he can damage some top gun from time to time but he usually loses to mugs in early rounds so... he is big mug that will never win a big tournament (M1000)

well he was never close to win a M1000 either and it's played to 3 sets...

how closer can you get to winning without actually winning?

Re: Will John Isner ever win anything big?

He had a chance at IW and played great against Nole but waved the white flag in the final the minute he saw Roger on the other end. So, the answer is no.

Re: Will John Isner ever win anything big?

not unless he develops some symbolance of a return game, decent net play would help too.. otherwise, no, destined to be a really good version of Ivo Karlovic..

Roger Federer def. John Isner, 7–6(9–7), 6–3

I didn't watch the match, but the result doesn't really look like a demolition.

Re: Will John Isner ever win anything big?

Hi,this is my first post here
watched that match (vs Nole, IW SF 2012), he had 12 points less if i remember correctly, something like 110-98 for Nole. It was an anomaly that happens sometimes, like Fed vs Tsonga on Wimbledon 2011

Jmac/Agassi/Safin/Nalbandian/Djokovic/Stan/Krajinovic/Zverev

Another run of the mill serve bot with no ground game. His biggest career achievement is taking Nadal to 5 on super fast clay.

Re: Will John Isner ever win anything big?

No. Lack of movement and a negative attitude aren't a winning combination. Still most players would rather play someone else. Isner is always fun to watch when he faces Nadal.

Fully Agree with you

Thiem will be top three by Dec 2016
Borna Coric will be No 1 by Dec 2017
Nick Kyrgios will be No 1 by Jan 2018

If his chances of winning increces exponetially in big tournaments playing to 3 sets and the result of this is only a M1000 final in 27 years... well, let me tell you the phrase "increasing exponentially" is overrated.
