Re: David Ferrer is the new World #4 !

This is what I'm looking forward to the most:
He is #4, which means he will get either Del Potro, Tsonga or Berdych in his quarter most of he time, unlike previous years when they were all separated and couldn't really play a lot of matches. If we're lucky, we will get to see Ferrer schooling one (or more) of those 3 guys nearly every tournament

ROGER FEDERER

Re: David Ferrer is the new World #4 !

If Nadal wins every South American tournament can he possibly retake number 4 before Indian Wells?

No. He can only score 1000 points from such wins (he has two mandatory 0-pointers in his rankings which cannot be taken out, and a 500 at Barcelona, so he can only score with 3 tournaments out of the 4 tournaments he is able to win (2 ATP 250 = 500, 1 ATP 500 = 500). Ferrer cannot drop more than 250 points, because he can replace the droppable tournament points with a series of non-countables already in place.

Haters will have to deal with it

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

If he would have decided to play Rotterdam-Memphis-Acapulco and win them all, and Ferrer couldn't produce another 250+ tournament besides the 500 one he is defending to increase his difference, Nadal could have been 4th before IW.

Cheers. How many total can be gained/lost on either side between now and RG?

It's a lot more likely he will beat Murray at Roland Garros

I'm well aware that he'll probably beat Murray at Roland Garros... Murray sucks on Clay.
