Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open

In an alternate reality where Stan won the whole thing, I give it 10/10.

4/10 the way this one went.

“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”

AO and RG are least interesting slams.

I don't like Nadal.

7/10 but the mediocrity was to be expected once rafa announced that he will skip it.

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open

I gave it a 5 but I may have been generous. The AO has become one of the lamest slams as of late.

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open

Below average, probably 4.
All of 2012's slams were much more interesting.

Roger Federer & Andy Murray
Dimitrov Haas Tsonga Paire Fognini

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open

6/10. So decent matches but for the most part predictable results and mediocre tennis

Only judging on the men's side...if i take the women's result the grade goes down to like 2 or 3

A 6. It was an OK first week, with some nice tense matches, but surprisingly few. The second week was nothing special.

Djokovic writing tennis history and giving us an epic match with Wawrinka.

10/10.

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open

no Rafa, predictable as never before and if there wasn't the Djokovic - Wawrinka match it could easily be a 0

i'd rate the 2013 edition "meh". some great battles (stan-nole etc.), lots of dull matches.

Re: Rate the 2013 Australian Open

I rated it 3/10

Djokovic was expected to win and won. He only played one epic match.
Murray was expected to make the final and he made it, he wasn't challenged the whole tournament unless you count the NID win over Fed.
Federer and Ferrer made the semi's as expected. Tsonga and Berdych both fell away in the big moments as expected.

The only real upset the entire tournament was Del Potro losing early, and that early loss made Murray's quarter so much more boring than it already was. Raonic couldn't challenge, Jerzy could have made the tournament more exciting but he was unable to create the upset, Tomic was floored in straights...

The whole tournament was just a replay of the status quo of the tour from last year, minus Rafa.

IMO from the since the plexicushion:

2012 = 2009 > 2010 > 2008 > 2011 > 2013
