Re: Did Federer Win The Title For Novak?

Nope. Murray is still young, he had enough time to recover. I heard Navratilova saying your recovery power starts to wane when you get to 26/27.

8th day of July 2012: 7-time Wimbledon champion!

Once upon a time there was a myth about strong and weak eras. On this glorious day the clownery was eventually unmasked: 30 y.o. past-prime daddy Fed became #1 once again in the supposed strong "Spartan" era with his rivals at their peak.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Long live King Federer!

Murray did that to himself, he could have won in four against Federer.

yes, I also remember you were the one who made threads about Fed just winning slams because he had no opposition in that time, and Djokovic deserving more to be the Goat than Fed

it will never end, yes

So, apparently a feather falling from somewhere in the audience made Murray DF in the tiebreak, leading him to lose the TB and in the end the match as well. That is how it went?

If so, I have an inkling who the culprit might be...

If a top player can lose his concetration by something as trivial as a feather, he's got some issues in the mental department. BBC trying to cope with the loss I see.

If we're thinking like this then technically both Wawrinka and Tsonga won the title for no2e

But jokes aside Novak won the title for Novak.

it was between first and second serve at 2*-3 in the tie-break, honestly I've seen Djokovic lose his concentration for similar reasons in the past

there was a lot of time between the first and the second serve, and Djokovic was clearly prepared to attack on second serve, I don't think Murray completely lost his focus but only he lacked the rhythm that you usually have after hitting a first serve.

He hit his second serve wide (not hugely wide, I think).

And actually Murray's first serve was very nearly in.

Besides, it seems that he called the trainer for his blister precisely at the sides change, the blister may have been "opened" precisely at that moment.

Re: Did Federer Win The Title For Novak?

Naaah, no excuses for Murray. He recovered from a 4 hour match against Berdych in the USO Semi last year with one day's rest to defeat Djoko in 5. Similar circumstances here. The blister obviously didn't help matters, but he would have been well-beaten today with or without it.

Re: Did Federer Win The Title For Novak?

As long as Nadal is out, the brackets have some chance of potentially becoming somewhat off balanced or create draws which could potentially end up becoming desirable for some players.

lol I think Tsonga is going to play a big factor in some of these slam campaigns. I think he's the one player that can make the QFs tedious in Nadal's absence.

After having Jeremy Chardy. Murray should have strived to defeat Federer in 4 sets. When you go the distance you put yourself vulnerable the further you advance.
