No, he played better on the day and took it. End of story.

Okay the wind just gifted Slamray a 2 sets to love lead. No biggie.

Re: Is Murrays 2012 US Open final victory over Novak starting to look like an anomaly

No, obviously not. He's completely changed as a player over the last year and become a real threat to win any hard court and grass grand slam. This is clear for an objective observer to see. The unjustified hate and lack of respect for Murray is getting to be way too much considering what he accomplished in 2012.

Murray has a negative H2H against Novak, Nadal and Federer have a positive. So how has he competed with him better than any other player?

Nice straw man. Nobody said the win wasn't fair. We're saying that it was an anomaly produced by favourable weather conditions.

Not to mention his five set record, which is the important one at grand slams.

Being little sensitive? Ok, he just had a 2-0 lead, that's fair. And wtf? I agree with you that it was a fair win (no matter wht would have happened if it wasn't for the wind) and you tell me to get over it.

Nole had 5-3 in the TB. He COULD have won the first set. Murray played some great tennis in the sudden death moments of that breaker (6-6 onwards)

Not really. The conditions were the same for both players. He was the better player in them and deserved the win. Murray's movement today was hampered by blisters on his foot, yet Novak deserved his victory, and would still have won had Murray not been affected. There you go, isn't difficult is it guys?

Welllll, Djokovic was 4-0 on Murray until Toronto 08. They're the same age, had paralleled each others' rise, but Murray lost quite a bit of progress to a snapped wrist tendon in 2007. Since Murray's breakthrough at Wimbledon 2008, they're 7-7. Murray should have won Shanghai last year too, so far on top. Also Rome 2011, served for the match.

Nadal's h2h vs Djokovic is 12-2 on clay, but 7-12 elsewhere.

Federer's record vs Djokovic is split by date - pre 2011 Fed led 13-6, but 2011+ 3-7.

Re: Is Murrays 2012 US Open final victory over Novak starting to look like an anomaly

I don't expect Murray to rattle off slam after slam but to say it's not gonna happen again is just wrong. I don't even like Murray but he's imo the second best tennis player in the world right now. Maybe not skills wise point to point but only one I'd put above him is Novak. Fed is up their age, Nadal is injury prone and beyond that, you got a bunch of scared pussies.

So, I could defintely see Murray winning a few more slams in his career.

If he doesn't win wimbledon though, his career takes a hit more then losing final after final. He NEEDS Wimbledon.

Re: Is Murrays 2012 US Open final victory over Novak starting to look like an anomaly

The guy has reached 6 slam finals and people talking about anomaly. Obviously because of his style of play those kind of matches won't be played by his own terms but to hit through Murray you have to be on top of your game. And somebody who can ask you these kind of questions day in and day out obviously deserves 7 of these chances at the same slam.

He won only final against Nole and lost all 3 to Fed but if I am Murray would outside of Wimbledon always choose Fed to play against. Obviously when Fed is on Murray is roasted but for Murray is much easier to put one attacker on his level than Nole for whom you know that will always be rock solid

imo Murray is pretty good pick for Wimbledon title. Don't see who could stop him if he repeats last year grass court matches
