Thank you Nole, we've made it to 6.

I love Andy and obviously I love Nole even more, but this was terrible overall. And as much as I really wish they come to dominate tennis now, the thought of these two playing a lot of finals in the future scares me. Come back Rafa

Ugly match.Nole looked lost for almost 3 sets, nothing was working bar his serve (the ues count is ).great mental strengh to take the tb of 2nd set tho, and overall to win this match while not playing his best.
Dunno what to say on Andy.He did well to take advantage of Novak's abysmal play til the 2nd tb but then he f*cked up.More than anything it's his failure to kill the match when he could that lost him the match, not the blister

anyway, 3 in a row, AO GOAT

Andy and Nole are definitely growing into their looks.

Always on the lookout for a great tennis match.

Great stuff from Nole. He was just too good today. Nice speech from Andy.

Re: AO Final: Djokovic sets Open Era record, def. Murray 6-7(2), 7-6(3), 6-3, 6-2

Djokovic was awful for the first set. Seemed to be struggling to know what tactics to use, totally taken out of his rhythm. Not unusual vs Murray for him I think.

Very tight 2nd set. Murray has triple bp early on when Djokovic was all over the place, but screws it up. In retrospect, that was his big chance for the match.

Murray calls trainer middle of 2nd set tiebreak. Seems that was the moment he popped the blister - horrible place for it, the ball of the big toe. All the weight of the foot goes there when running, and especially when stopping and accelerating.

Murray's movement obviously compromised after that.

Interesting thing for me was that Djokovic struggled to press his advantage, his concentration wasn't quite there, as often happens when the opponent is struggling physically. Bit more solid, but nothing too special. He's a beast though, ultimately he got the balance right because he was pretty comfortable, Murray couldn't hit through him.

Murray kept his serving level from the Federer match - at the end of the 3rd he was at something like 89% first serve points won, and even at match end he's at 81%. Against Djokovic, in slow conditions, in a match he lost. That's fantastic, and if that's a permanent improvement he'll be number 1 at the end of the season (unlikely I'm sure, he has had periods serving this well in the past).

Worth staying up just to watch Novak win. A pity that the match was such horrible quality...

Lol, you have no business saying that, Murray being the much fitter player in USO finals last year, otherwise who knows what would've happen in the 5th.

Nole no words Class from Murray Wawrinka the 3rd best player of AO

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Pretty poor match. First serve aside Murray was pretty woeful. Djokovic wasn't great but didn't need to be.

The thought of multiple slam finals between these two is a deeply depressing one.
