Novak was lucky here, Murray is the more talented player and will end up winning more slams overall in his career. The better player and tennis lost.

6th Slam

Murray did well and managed to drag Nole's level down a lot in the first two sets but Nole started hitting much better and showed his champion's mentality in the last two sets.

This match reminded me on their final in 2011, only with a better Murray but Djokovic showed his class in the end.

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

What a cringeworthy post.

Congrats to the champ. Too strong for Muzz today. He needed to take the second set to stand a chance here, and as soon as he lost that Novak just started stirring. One way traffic after that.

As per usual, I'll avoid all the usual hyperbole... ''Nole for CGS' bullshit..The same crap that was spouted in 2012 after he beat Nadal in AO... We all know that turned out.

Should be a fine year for Tennis.

eurosport in a crying mode.

ASI Director-General Gautam Sengupta said the list of India's treasures held abroad was "too long to handle" and there was a need for a "diplomatic and legal campaign" for their restitution from institutions, including the British Museum, the Royal Collection and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Re: AO 2013 Final: Djokovic champions over Murray 6-7(2), 7-6(3), 6-3, 6-2 [3 IN A RO

the first two sets were interesting, although I much prefer those two to oppose on a quicker surface than this plexicushion on a cold day. If the match was boring to some, the surface has more to be blamed than the players imo.

in last two sets it was less interesting because it was obvious that Murray wasn't good enough physically and Djokovic would get him at any moment.

The second set was of course the key : Murray won a higher percentage of points on Djokovic's serve than the opposite in that set but yet lost the set, just like against Fed in the semi.

Especially Djokovic avoided the mistake he had done in the US Open to let Murray escape when he lost confidence after the loss of the first set and was led 0*-1 0*-40.

Congrats Novak for your foruth tile in Australia, the third in a row

And congrats Andy for your third grand slam final in a row, many more will come

Djokovic just way too good on these courts, congrats to him and his fans.

Sad for Murray but Wimbledon is surely the main goal now. Keep your head high, you've done all your fans proud.

Murray has done so much for tennis in the last twelve months, and this tournament solidifies the idea that Murray is right there with Djokovic.

Congratulations to Novak, he struggled at times during the match but handled the occasion better.

Better player won and no way Murray earns more slams.

more talented?

I dont think so.

Murray lost 5 of his 6 finals.

Djokovic now has 6 slams and Murray 1.

“Does Djokovic resemble myself?” Agassi said. “No, he is even better. He defends really well, while I struggled more in that element of the game. Novak looks totally relaxed when defending, completely calm and the quality of his return is incredible. He is also extremely flexible in his game, which is facilitated by his ability to anticipate his rival’s moves. That is why I think he is a much more versatile player than I was and he is also much more athletic.”
