Re: Do you like Murray-Djokovic matches

Djokovic is a rhythm player. Murray is one of the smartest players on the tour, who always apply good tactics. He takes away the rhythm from Djokovic. That's why you have boring matches. Federer is applying the same tactic against Djokovic lately.

I don't like Nadal.

I can't stand watching Murray just put the ball back in play, and wait for Djokovic to boss him around. At least Wawrinka actually put some pressure on him.

Murray is the problem in this match......there is a reason why Djokovic-Federer are great matches...........Murray slows down the game

When the quality is good like last year's AO and Shanghai then they are a blast to watch. However, matches like here and in New York not as fun.

Re: Do you like Murray-Djokovic matches

Novak has a tendency to play monotonous tennis against Murray. I think he knows the match is on his racket and the urgency to play well isn't the same.

The best matches are Novak-Roger for pure shot-making and Novak-Rafa for the most grueling rallies and display of mental toughness.

Rafa-Murray matches are crap due to Murray's inability to play aggressive tennis consistently and getting bullied by Rafa from the baseline; Rafa-Roger matches are one-sided thanks to the painful humiliations Rafa inflicted on Roger, and Roger's backhand being an error machine against Rafa's topspin forehand.

Novak brings out the best tennis from the top 4; all matches are better when they're facing him.

Outside of clay their H2H is tied. Though most match happened past Fed´s prime and in Nadal´s. And out of all those clay matches, only a few have been straight sets. Most were pretty close.

Re: Do you like Murray-Djokovic matches

Overall yes, but rather when they play on a quick surface rather than this awful plexicushion on a cold day

I liked very much their matches in Shanghai and the WTF

The USO final was played on a windy day, it was also not good conditions

If it had been played on a warmer temperature like last year's final and if Murray had been fit to make it a 5-setter, I would have definitely preferred it to Djokovic-Nadal, although the latter one can also be interesting.

Re: Do you like Murray-Djokovic matches

It is a terrible match-up for a spectator. No contrasts, it´s basically just moving the opponent around with very little variation and risks. A few great winners here and there don´t make up for a fact that these guys can play a 25-shot rally where nothing actually happens. It´s about as interesting as watching paint dry.

I remember a few years ago watching the AO final where Nadal beat Federer in five (the one where Fed cried), and I was glued to my sofa for the whole match. I know some don´t agree, but Nadal and Federer managed to crate interesting matches that had drama. The only stunning thing with Murray and Djokovic is their inability to crate any kind of tension and drama on court. After watching the first set today, all I could think was "please don´t make this go to five sets". I hope this rivalry won´t dominate tennis for years to come, it would be terrible for the sport. Makes me miss rivalries like Fed-Nadal, Sampras-Agassi, Edberg-Becker...

Same old excuses. Teenager Rafa beat prime Roger at RG. Roger has always had problems dealing with the high bouncing, heavy topspin Rafa forehand.

Since 2007, Rafa hasn't lost to Federer in slams. Nobody cares about masters when it comes to the all time greats; it's all about the slams and for the past 6 years, Rafa has humiliated Roger again & again in the slams: that's the one sided part I'm talking about.
