01. Backhand.
02. Slice.
03. Volleys.
04. Movement.
05. Speed.
06. Anticipation.
07. Defense.
08. At its peak and at its best....forehand.
09. First serve.
10. Variety.
11. He's stronger and more powerful, but that doesn't show as much....
12. Fitness/stamina.
13. More consistent off the ground.
14. Better return.

Might seem like a lot....

Djokovic has a better forehand more of the time, better second serve, better athleticism, better overall power on his shots and better mentality more often which overall helps him win his matches, along with crappy opponents (but that's their problem).

I forgot to add lobs too. Murray is better at all touch shots, including dropshots (though he overuses them, like Djokovic).

He is much faster and anticipation. Compared to other players, his anticipation is superior....

Variety too. Djokovic is a baselines, Murray can play anywhere on the court. It's a joy to watch him serve and volley (when he does), unlike Djokovic who isn't as good at volleying.

Re: What Does Murray Have Over Djokovic?

Hard to compare in a way as Djokovic has only recent returned to his best form. Now he has, Murray clearly still has better touch - better slice, net game, droppers - lobs perhaps equal. Djokovic clearly has a far better forehand & 2nd serve & greater mental strength. 1st serve it's close as Murray's is more devastating when it goes in, but Djoker's is so much more reliable, especially in the clutch, I'm inclined to give him the edge. Backhand - again it's close & along with his slice, Murray is arguably better at flat and topspin shots when on top form, but he is far more inconsistent, often going through whole matches hardly hitting a backhand down the line. Honours about even. Return of serve & overall defence, I'd say this year so far, Djokovic has the edge, but it hasn't always been that way.

yes yes I saw him live against Nalbandian in Paris : he was great at that

but next two matches against Cilic and Monfils that tactics was gone (a little bit against Monfils) : he preferred winning ugly against Cilic and didn't try that enough against Monfils.

I think he's one of the players with the best abilities for that but he hardly ever does it

useless old guy

I quite agree with finishingmove's post and boldings, and indeed, much of the list is close enough to be debatable. I would group the various points into three categories:

1. Points that are close enough that it is reasonable to call them in Murray's favor,
2. Points that you are simply wrong about but that fall within an acceptable range of rabid fanboy bias, and
3. Points so uproariously absurd that they made me

As you might have guessed, the bolded portions fall under the 3rd category. Special mention for #13, which is surely just you taking the piss. I suppose if "consistent" is supposed to mean "consistently passive" or "consistently underwhelming," the statement becomes viable.

Re: What Does Murray Have Over Djokovic?

At this point probably volleys and a taller height (6'3 vs 6'2). Having a taller height won't help him defeat the likes of Djokovic or other top quality players though

Nothing.

Even Novak's poodle dogs are better than Murray's mutt.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Excellent narrative on the point in this sea of comments that overstate Djokovic and Murray on the comparative.

Re: What Does Murray Have Over Djokovic?

It is funny how most people said that andy has abetter volley
Ok he has abetter volley but how often does he come to the net
He has apacier first serve but how often it goes in
Better lobs, slice, net game. But all he does in his matches is push the ball
