yep i remember the analysis. according to him, murray is better in every department except the second serve.

the poll result about the better forehand was sth like 190-2 in favour of djokovic, though.

Precisely, some parts of the game are just important for winning a slam than others. The fact that Novak served better than Murray in AO this year, that his FH is a much bigger weapon and Novak's willingness to force the issue off the ground when the opportunity arises is already more than enough for Novak to end up the title winner and Murray the runner up.That Murray may have better slice, netplay and maybe even slightly BH just isn't as important in the big scheme of things.

Re: What Does Murray Have Over Djokovic?

I think most players are better than Nole at smash volleys, I always cringe when he does it and it's by no means an advantage for him.

Djokovic can play on grass, yes he did take a set to Nadal in Wimbledon in 2007 (it was the first one then he retired but he had reasons for that, having had incredible 5-setters in previous days and suffering more from that rainy short-scheduled Wimbledon than Nadal) and in the Queens in 2008, but Nadal didn't play as well as the one who played against Murray in Wimbledon 2010 ... and who could certainly have lost a set to Murray.

But overall I think Murray has more abilities for that surface from his qualities (serve, slice, touch, volley) and also because he grew up there.

useless old guy

Re: What Does Murray Have Over Djokovic?

Murray advantages: First serve, slice approach shots to net, volleys, lob and drop shots.
Djokovic advantages: Second serve, forehand, movement, mental side and physical strength.

Similar: Backhand, return of serve, passing shots and tactics.

Re: What Does Murray Have Over Djokovic?

Nothing, weaker in every department. Reason why novak is a two time slam winner and murray is king of the mm events.

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.
