Was Chardy tired from playing both singles and doubles?

I think that performance he put in against Del Potro would have been good enough to take Murray to at least four sets and a breaker if not 5.

Granted players like him run hot and cold, but how lucky was Murray to get two tired opponents in a row?

"I did not play my best tennis, no? And..that is what enable him to win..to win this match no? "

Doubles isn't really a factor, they just skip a practice session and be alright.

He was slightly injured and had the most court time of everyone coming into this match, while not being used to deep runs in slams. You can't trouble Murray in that state.

He lost in doubles the day after he beat Del Potro anyway.

He beat him last year.

He wasn't going to beat him again but he could've taken a set.

If he put in a carbon copy of the performance against Del Po, and Murray played how he did against Berankis..Chardy would have won.

Re: Was Chardy tired from playing both singles and doubles?

No, he wasn't tired, but he picked up a little knee niggle in the doubles match right after the Del Potro match, which is why he had his knee taped.

But what most affected his performance against Murray was the nerves of playing in his first Slam QF, that first game sums it all up really. It's the downside of top player upsets: it's great to see new faces in the late stages, but Chardy (like many before him) couldn't back up their level of play when the spotlight was on them.

MTF games titles:

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

Tired definitely and injured still made Murray choke who knew he was lucky to have faced a 15% fit chardy!

Even if he played like he did against Delpo he would have still lost in straights.

Re: Was Chardy tired from playing both singles and doubles?

No but it does bring up an important, slightly related point. Men have a lot of trouble playing singles and doubles in grand slams while women can do it easily (sometimes they can even do mixed as well). Another reason "equal prize money" is actually very biased towards women.

Chardy is a Roger's fan. maybe. But, He is mug.

.

Nadal "Sampras, Ivanisevic match. or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable. It's not really tennis. it is a few swings of the racquet. For me in the past it was just serve. serve". arrogance.

clay excluded. successive win 0. If grass and a hard are fast. Like Sampras era. Nadal is able to win only with clay. power of defense and muscles. boring ugly. All the surface is slow now.

fake time-out. cheat. gamesmanship. too noisy annoying always. excuse. boycotts threatened. always dissatisfaction cry complaints. dissatisfaction to schedule. selfish two-year ranking. bump to player. ugly protest. always exaggerated appeal of self condition. etc. overrated by fanatic arrogant blind fan

Re: Was Chardy tired from playing both singles and doubles?

Totally correct. On the one hand it might seem unfair to lambast women for only playing 3 sets as it's not exactly their decision, and tennis is very traditional so unlikely to change. HOWEVER, I think theres a reason why the top women aren't exactly fighting for equality to play 5 sets, and thats the reason. They know they can make more than the men in actuality, especially considering the depth is also not neally as great in the womens game.
