Re: WWW AO SF: [3] Murray vs. [2] Federer

I want it to be Federer in 4. But considering how fresh Murray is coming into this match compared to Fed, hes the favorite.

Re: WWW AO SF: [3] Murray vs. [2] Federer

I think a lot depends on how much today's match v Tsonga had taken out of Federer. Murray hasn't been tested to date and I think that will be a telling factor in the SF, so I'll go for Murray in 4.

When did slow courts start to favour Fed over Muzz?

Fakerer in 3, helped by the closing of the roof after complaining about invisible droplets of water around the court.

Re: WWW AO SF: [3] Murray vs. [2] Federer

I give it to Murray. He's had a very easy fortnight while Federer has had a pretty tough run (even if he was coming through it routinely till tonight).

Of course if Federer shows up and plays better than he did tonight he can still blow Murray away, but it seems unlikely to me. Murray finally having grand slam success should mean he has the confidence not to cave if he gets behind early too this time.

Re: WWW AO SF: [3] Murray vs. [2] Federer

Murray in 3/4 sets.

Yes Murray has faced weak players to reach the semi-final in this "strong era", but has looked good when necessary.

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 17 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.
Nadal 14 GS, 27 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 9 GS, 4 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.

indeed just beause pushray can not hit winners. slow courts are the reason Murray leads the H2H

Fed usually steps up when tennis needs to be saved. I have faith he can do it again.
