Re: WWW AO QF: Djokovic vs. Berdych

I'm sure Nole will bring his A-game tonigh and will beat Berdych in 3 tight sets.

In doing so, he'll be clinching the #1 at least for another 5 weeks...Baby steps.

I Don't think Novak is in all that good form currently, so opponents might have more chances than usually, going to guess it to go 3-1 to Novak in four tight sets even still though.

Pfft... the egg is so 2011. The one you see on court is just an avatar controlled by Nole from his hyper capsule

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Re: WWW AO QF: Djokovic vs. Berdych

Djokovic knows how to play to control Berdych, stretching him out wide on both sides with angles and especially the heavy, angled forehand cross court. If he plays very well then he can control the match in that way and will win barring Berdych playing as well as he ever has. Against Wawrinka, Djokovic was a little more passive than he is at his best. If he plays like that, there will be more scope for Berdych to challenge him. The nature of the match up (Djokovic can routinely redirect Berdych's power rather than play desperate defence, which is vitally important) means that even a passive Djokovic insures Berdych will require a brilliant performance to win, which I think is quite unlikely. That said, Berdych is clearly an excellent player, so he should push Djokovic within sets. I would predict something along the lines of 6-3 7-6 6-1 for the Serb.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

Djoker just seems to manoeuvre Berdy round the court at will.

Re: WWW AO QF: Djokovic vs. Berdych

Returns Berdych's serve by far the best of anyone
Moves him around the court the best of anyone
Dictates play against Berdych as if he's a big hitter himself

Awful matchup. Berdych's only chance to beat Djokovic is on grass, where I do expect him to win to be fair.

Berdych | Murray | Tsonga | Monfils | Raonic | Soderling
