Re: Del Potro - When Will The Hype Stop?

He is improving his BH. He is starting to hit more DTL and not always CC.

Can't wait for him to win his 2nd slam to prove all the bunch of haters wrong (that will be happening soon).

Do you realise he was out of the top200 in 2011? even went as low as 450's?
Waiting for an answer.

I wouldn't hold my breath. You're overestimating the haters' ability to formulate anything even remotely resembling a rational thought. The hatred isn't based on any facts so it's not like Del Potro winning a second Slam will put an end to it. I'm pretty sure it will be a fluke over choking/injured *insert beaten finalist* here.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

Re: Del Potro - When Will The Hype Stop?

I used to hold OP's opinion but now I find the hype more acceptable. Potro is a slam champion so there is at least something to back up the hype. He also seems to be constantly improving since his injuries and seems to be getting back to his best. I think he will win more slams, not for a couple years yet but he will have chances in the future.

Now that overrated servebot Raonic, there is an overhyped player.

Such a brilliant analysis of your own attitude regarding Ferrer!

High level trolling! (I'm not even being sarcastic, I'm actually enjoying it!)

Re: Del Potro - When Will The Hype Stop?

Del Potro is just a cut above the rest. Honestly.

Djoko
Murray
Fed

Nadal (if he comes back)

Del Potro

Ferrer/Berdych

Top 10 is something like that. Potro is where Murray used to be 3 years ago. Won't take much for him to break through.

If you have an issue with a report/infraction, a user, a moderator or just want to talk, PM me.

I support Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Del Potro.

Why? Because I love tennis plain and simple

Re: Del Potro - When Will The Hype Stop?

Del Potro isn't winning anything big again. That US Open was a fluke. He's had 3 years since he recovered and 2 years being pretty much back to full health to do something of note. He hasn't done that, he's just an average top 10 player now. Get used to it, Potrotards.

ANDY MURRAY

SLAMS: 3 WINS, 8 finals, 9 semi-finals, 7 quarter-finals...
MASTERS: 12 WINS, 5 finals, 13 semi-finals, 18 quarter-finals...
WTF: 3 semi-finals...
OTHER: Two-time Olympic gold medalist and Davis Cup champion...
MATCH WIN/LOSS: 601-171...
TITLES: 39 and counting...

Re: Del Potro - When Will The Hype Stop?

Great thread So many idiots exposed in only 10 pages.

Del Potro the highest seed to lose, looks to have gone backwards this year. If Chardy can expose his poor movement, imagine what Fed and Murray can do. If he even makes it that far.

Lol Del Po-tards

Even I have shame enough not to pump up Murray right after he has off day and dumps out to a random(lately though that hasn't been at the big tourneys).

I guess Del Po's loss to Chardy at this little warm up tournament is more evidence of his greatness!
An no, nothing about Del Po's results for the last couple years puts him ahead of Ferrer. Nothing.

Berdych won the Davis cup almost single handed, and he also reached a Semi of a major which Del Po failed to do.

So 2 results equal the whole 2012?
DOn't forget he lost his 1st match at wimby.

Delpo won 4 titles and an Olympic medal, and didn't lose to a lower ranked player in all 4 slams.

Re: Del Potro - When Will The Hype Stop?

His slam is deserved, though I don't like him. But I doubt he wins any more. All the time, you hear about Tsonga/Berdych/ Gonzalez when he played "If he gets red hot for a week and the top players are having a bad tournament, he could get a Slam" without realizing that that's exactly what happened with del Potro. I'd be very shocked if he won another
