Re: Will Ferrer win a slam this year?

He can make the final if Romerer shows up in the semis. Then he might beat Oldal or Tiredovic/RIPovic in the final

Re: Will Ferrer win a slam this year?

Stunning match from Anderson, pommeling all those serves and forehands. Definitely the stiffest test for Ferrer so far.

Please, stop it Federer could play in a wheelchair and still beat Ferrer. Let alone beating him and then one of Nadal or Novak in the final

OK OK, I know He would need lots of luck to all of these to happen. But a final is definitely a possibility if Tsonga takes out Federer, or Federer's level drops.

To me, he's gotta be about even with Fed in chances to win here at this point. He might need Fed taken out though. He can beat Novak on clay.

Re: Will Ferrer win a slam this year?

I must say, the thought of Ferrer in a slam final always gave me shivers, but seeing how he's playing at the moment and how he pushed Nadal in Rome/Madrid. I'm almost at a point where I think he definitely deserves to be there.

The guy is looking so strong right now. I'm even more confident about this prediction now than when I started this thread.

Same here, I think he deserves it if he gets there.

On clay - maybe. In RG final - NO FUCKING WAY

Djokovic | Tipsarevic | Querrey

Re: Will Ferrer win a slam this year?

I think he will. I mean, looking at his ominous form, who can stop him really? Kevin Anderson played the match of his life and still only took a measly five games, Tommy Robredo would be his toughest opponent in normal conditions but after three consecutive five setters it's dubious that he will offer any meaninful resistance.

After that, who is left? Roger Federer? Surely David's relentless consistency from the baseline will be enough to prevail in this one and break down the Swiss. Novak Djokovic? The only 5-set match they played on clay a sub-peak David Ferrer demolished a peakiest of peaks Djokovic in 3 easy sets, so I don't see any problems there. Rafael Nadal? Remember Australian Open 2011? If David is executing well, he calls the shots in this matchup and his form seems to suggest that it will be the case.

Last but not least he's a much better player than Juan Martin del Potro and the Argentine has a Slam to his name, so logic suggests David will be winning at least a few himself in the near future.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

This actually makes a lot of sense.
