so he faces 3 tall, one dimensional,no variety,no plan B and slow ass movers and beats them at Kooyong and now Hewitt will dominate? I hope both he and Tomic get demolished as soon as they face some of the better players.Enough already!

Kooyang is right before the AO, no way would any of the top players Hewitt faced take the exho seriously, they don't want to risk their physical condition days before the tournament starts. I wish it was a sign that Lleyton was back but no way in hell will he come even close to the second week of the AO

The fact remains that Hewitt is playing an EXHO. NONE of the players benefit from the results of the matches, and therefore don't try...

I agree, that Tipsy won a 250 which had an EXTREMELY weak field, but his opponents were probably trying a lot harder then Ranoic, Berdych and Del Potro were against Hewitt (who was probably putting his all in).

Those "wins" mean very little. He wouldn't beat Berdych and Del Potro if they took it seriously. Raonic otoh, is nothing special.

Re: Is Hewitt back? Raonic, Berdych, Del Potro destroyed in an hour.

Good tennis players are by nature competative and would try to win whatever the tournament.

The weather yesterday was mild with high humidity, don't think that would upset Del Potro. He looked to me as though he was a bit short on match practice.

Tipsarevic is the favourite for this first round, but he has never done well at the AO, I don't think he's been passed the 3rd round. Hewitt seemed to have brought his A game to the Aami Classic, let's hope this continues.

Re: Is Hewitt back? Raonic, Berdych, Del Potro destroyed in an hour.

People need use their brain more instead of dismissing everything due to the fact they were exhibition matches. They mean little for the players he beat but for Hewitt himself it'll be a significant confidence boost - especially since he appears to be fit. Hewitt returned extremely well, made barely any random UEs and was striking the backhand down the line crisply. These are all key form indicators for him so for Hewitt and his team it's a pretty big deal. Obviously he's not going to win next week but there are signs he could beat Tipsaravaric and go on to have a solid AO campaign.

The thing is, Hewitt doesn't face a better player before the semis, so it's reasonable to think he has a decent shot in making that far.

On the real ACC'16 Final:

this is the reality, even Lleyton with confidence is nothing too groundbreaking, I doubt he can beat Janko, who is actually a pretty unfortunate round 1 opponent for Hewitt

Obviously not as straight forward as this tennis pundit says. He can beat Tipsy for sure. But dunno how deep he can go with his fitness.

No but it proves that he deserves a lot more respect from MTF than the BS that idiots with no tennis IQ throw at him (weak era player etc)
