I just hope Bernie doesn't go downhill from here. He peaked too early??
He's meeting Roger in third round??

I dont think its a matter of him peaking early, as long as he stays headstrong like he has been so far this year he should be able to maintain his good form he's had over the past 2 weeks

Bernard Tomic
Grigor Dimitrov
Richard Gasquet
Nick Kyrgios

Yeah I know. Tomic chooses his finals carefully.

Tennis desperately needs some cocky young upstarts to come along and take on the big guns. Besides his honesty in interviews gives people who don't like him the chance to have a good laugh when he loses.
My problem is that he is disrespectful and arrogant. It's not only that comment but many other things that he has said and done.

I hope he makes the 3rd round so Federer can sweep the floor with him like last year.

Really great time for a trophy for Tomic. (Is there ever a bad time for it...?)

He'll go into the first major of the year full of confidence. He's at an age when you would expect to see a top player accelerating in their development on court. He's young, dumb and full of come.

He should meet Federer in the third round. Federer will be 32 later this year, and he hasn't played any warm-up tournaments. I smell an upset a la Federer-Sampras at Wimbledon back in 2001...

LOL. Tomic is not peaking too early.

He's only 20 yo FFS.
If playing and winning first tournament in the year is considered "peaking too early", tomic might as well give up on his ambition to be top ten this year.

Re: Sydney F: Tomic's Maiden Title 6-3 6-7(2) 6-3 over Anderson

Anderson could be a much better player if he wasn't so horribly inconsistent at putting away short balls (which he gets by virtue of his huge serve). That fatal flaw was on full show in this match as well.

Tomic's serve has improved massively, he could go on to have a very good year.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

The poster was obviously referring to peaking too early as far as the AO goes.

And that's what I was saying also.
If winning a 250 tournament with a rather a weak field is considered "peaking too early for AO", then he should give up his ambition to be a really great player. He is 20 yo FFS, and he is being touted as the next RF.

Hell, even players like Tipsy and Ferrer also won pre-AO tournaments.

Well he's not here for anyone to really like (outside of Australia that is). he's an obvious sociopath and that's for life ('I'm getting choked up bla bla') he's the villain. But tennis needs these characters. Even his most ardent detractors must admit he's a interesting character for the sport, if not the sporting world.

Hard to believe how he was being treated at the end of last season. Once T-bomb wins AO, I'll create a thread for everyone to make their apologies.

Well he said he going to be better than RF, so he should own up to it.
