After the new time violation rule, SF at best.
Last year Del Potro was warned for slow play (going over 20 seconds) against Federer and he still did well (I classify that performance as good because he was nowhere close to being ready for RF and he still was pretty close on a few occasions in a scorcher of day).

Re: Del Potro's AO Chances...

if he survives to QF anything can happen. Delpo is bigger than most other top guys so heat doesn't work in his favor but with night matches that's a smaller issue. Murray is the guy to avoid

beg to differ. it's because of the big expectations and high quality tennis.

He has a shot at both the first couple Slams and the YE top 3, so brace yourselves

Re: Del Potro's AO Chances...

Australia isn't the best for Del Po. So i'll say Quarter Finals as an actual prediction atm. Semi Finals are very much possible though, depending on form and the draw

Re: Del Potro's AO Chances...

It obviously depends on the draw. If he faces Nole in the QF he will lose there. But I'm confident than he won't and he will reach the SF.

Please respond by posting how far you think he'll make it in the tourney as well as an further predictions for his year ( I think he'll make the SF and finish in the top 4)

Also, as a side note, Del Potro is one of the most likeable players on tour...I don't think i've ever read anything bad about him. Please don't make this thread the first, keep comments respectful.
Not really.

Re: Del Potro's AO Chances...

As much as I would like him to go to the end, he will not get farther than SF I fear and that is if things go his way. The court would work too much in favour of Murray and Djokovic were they to play against Delpo, Federer might lose against him, but that is if he does not reach his level and Juan Martin has a good day and Ferrer, as has been said, tends to hold the upper hand in their matches.

Re: Del Potro's AO Chances...

Quarter final. Loses there in straight, regardless of who his top 4 opponent is. That's what will happen.

Re: Del Potro's AO Chances...

Reckon Pony might lose early actually. I think the time violation rules are going to hurt him badly

I love all aspects of TENNIS.

Federer - The Artist
Murray - The Tactician
Nalbandian - The Ballstriker
Llodra - The S/V
