Re: Isner withdraws from Australian Open.

it doesn't affect 4 semi finalists in any possible way.

ASI Director-General Gautam Sengupta said the list of India's treasures held abroad was "too long to handle" and there was a need for a "diplomatic and legal campaign" for their restitution from institutions, including the British Museum, the Royal Collection and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Sorry for him, get well soon John.

Really something, so many injuries at the beginning of the season.

It happened at RG f.e. this year. Monfils withdrew 3 or 4 hours before first match Q, Karol Beck moved IN as a 1st alt. and his place in Q draw was replaced by someone else. But if Monfils had pulled out after some matches started, LL gets his place as far I am concerned.
Thanks for the explanation!

Tsonga withdrew?
If you just mean in doubt, then you can add Stepanek and Simon to that list.

We got Monaco, Simon, Nishikori, Stepanek, Tipsarevic, and Tsonga in doubt for the AO. not looking good for AO TBH.

I agree. it is a shame he never committed himself in the gym and get into a proper shape.

Never a fan of injury but now we don't have to watch him wilt like a flower under this heat

Tsonga's been training hard at Melbourne Park. Don't think he will withdraw.

Still shining: Roger Federer / Andy Murray / Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Stars of Tomorrow: Nick Kyrgios / Kyle Edmund / Borna Coric / Francis Tiafoe

Disappointing, but the right decision from John. Rest up for the Davis Cup, we'll need you.

Re: Isner withdraws from Australian Open.

Hope he recovers soon. Isner is one of those capable of pulling huge upsets when his serve is on.
Btw, is Federer also withdrawing? Why isn't he playing any of the warmup events?

Federer did not schedule any warmups because he wanted a longer break after last season. He is presently in Melbourne, training and preparing.

Re: Isner withdraws from Australian Open.

Always sad to hear about a player getting injured but as mentioned previously a bit of good news that comes out of this is that Nishikori gets 16th seed. Kei said on his facebook he is going to be totally ready for AO and I really hope he can use his improved seeding to defend those QF points
