Fun shot, but completely unnecessary: he had all the time in the world to hit a normal passing shot or lob. I prefer shots made in desperate situations.

Re: Best shot of 2013 already delivered

I think Monfils hit the shot of year until another great shot comes up

in Auckland today against Benjamin Becker in that 2nd set and up 2-0 and 30-15 on his serve

Melania Trump who is not qualified to shine Michelle Obama's shoes might very well be the first semi-literate AND vapid First Lady of the US

Very nice shot, but not nearly as good as Dimitrov's behind the back shot, and both Fed's US Open tweeners. Murray's between the legs half volley against Tsonga in queens final was also great.

she just hit the ball coz it was there and there was no other way for her to play it.

Girls can't make tweeners and stuff, except by chance, which was the case

Re: Best shot of 2013 already delivered

It's a great shot but hardly 2013's best. Compared to some of the shots the pros hit under pressure, that one is actually not that difficult. He had time to prepare.

Del Potro hit a similar shot back in 2007
