Good job with the reports, thanks.

Would be awesome if you get to see Fabbiano-Schwartzman. Battle of promising (being generous with Thomas, I know) young clay court midgets, what's there not to like? :P Thomas has supposedly been working hard on his serve, and his 1R result against Bhambri was a big surprise to me so it could be a nice match under the radar to watch, Diego has game.

Re: 2013 Australian Open Reports and Photos

It was windy at times, not for the whole day so it was a factor in some of the matches.

Only saw the end of the Fabbiano match, will more than likely see his next one with Schwartzmann.

Capdeville the guy was grunting like constipated calf.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: 2013 Australian Open Reports and Photos

Could I ask please if you link to a blog to put it in your main post?

Many of us have signatures turned off, so unless you say something about the blog in the post, we won't even know you have a blog. I see nothing wrong with saying "Hi, I went to the matches and did a whole write up on my blog." and then post the link. I don't think Action Jackson can arbitrarily make that a forum rule.

I don't get why it's somehow wrong to put the link to your blog in the post.

Re: 2013 Australian Open Reports and Photos

Bit rushed for time, so more just a few random thoughts.

Sela vs. Kunitsyn

Sela was excellent in this match, he has been the best player in qualies and easily. He worked Kunitsyn around the court hitting some fine backhands. Dudi was happy after the match, play like this given the right draw he will win a match in the MD given the right opponent.

Authom vs. Brown

Authom really didn't miss much at all in this match especially off the forehand side. In the 1st set Brown lost his first service game, then broke back to level and played a poor game at 5-6 so Authom broke for the set without having to do anything.

Second set started the same Brown was erratic, but Authom was hitting some fine passing shots, then at 4-1 Brown checked out mentally. Hope Authom thumps Serra.

Schwartzmann vs. Fabbiano

Saw the 2nd set in this one and Schwartzmann is a midget, he makes Sela look like a giant. Bit of a grindfest, but not too bad to watch Schwartzmann was dominating with the off forehand in this one and didn't look like losing at all.

Weintraub vs. Albot

Weintraub should have won this in 2 sets comfortably, but he played much better against Odesnik. He can get up for the better players it seems, but struggled with the Moldovan grinder.

Weintraub served for the 1st set twice, last 4 games before the buster were all breaks. Most of the match was Weintraub trying to make the play, the backhand wasn't as good but still good enough and Albot defending like mad.

Once Amir got the second set and early break, he put his mind to it and finished off Albot who was struggling with his right arm but kept going.

Big chance for he and Schwartzmann playing each other for a place in the main draw.

Dirk Hordoff was around and yes he was in the corner smoking. He was probably down to 100 a day. Zeballos was at the Schwartzmann match, plus Goffin who looks like Michael J Fox in Back to the Future at the Authom one.

DY and Blake that could be a funny one today.

Been a bit sick so will write up the stuff I've seen tomorrow.

Schwartzmann and Weintraub was the best match today. Sela was mobbed by fans after his win.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Hope everything is good with you, AJ. It's been a while since you last posted and said you were a bit sick! Hopefully you're recovered already and enjoying the matches.
