Brad Gilbert's take on Mattress Mac

11.14.2004 -

We've spent the last few days in Austin gearing up for the Masters Cup. Andy really likes playing in Houston. He feels at home there and loves playing for Mac and the awesome fans that pack into the West Side Tennis Club. I did a radio show with Mac last year and I've never seen a man with more passion and enthusiasm for the game. He's got my vote to take over as Mark Miles' replacement . If ever a man could move the game into the 21st century it's Mac.

more reasons to believe that, left in gilbert's hands, things go wrong

Why not get Andrew Castle or Mark Petchey to compete with him - could be tough to choose a replacement for Miles out of those clowns!

Re: Brad Gilbert's take on Mattress Mac

Having said that...I'd be all for Mac taking over Alan Mills's job at Wimby! Who wants a crusty, sweaty old man breathing all over the belles of the WTA tour - Sharapova must have been cringing when Mills kissed her on the cheek this year. I'm sure she'd rather have kissed Mattresses's face.

Re: Brad Gilbert's take on Mattress Mac

Brad was being a politician. you don't go into someone's kitchen and say that they can't cook. at the same time, compliments to the chef are sometimes statements of politeness, not declarations of honesty.

Q. When you've played as few matches as you have over the last two, three months, did you ever lack motivation to go out and practice?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

Re: Brad Gilbert's take on Mattress Mac

You better watch out,
you better not cry,
better not pout
I am telling you why
Mattress Mac is an arse clown

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
