Dimitrov fought hard at least. Good on Murray to gain some confidence, AO will be interesting.

Good effort Grisha but Murray's experience came through in the end. Hope Dimitrov can finally get past the 2nd round of a Grand Slam in Melbourne

Top effort from Dimitrov. Will be up and down this season, but it will be a positive year for the lad. 2014 should be his career year if he keeps improving at the rate he is.

This is really disgusting. Not only is it all over the tennis internet, but has been mentioned several times in this thread - Murray was upset because one of his best and oldest friends, Ross Hutchins, has been diagnosed with cancer at age 27. I don't see how you can have missed it but if you know it your remark is abominable.

Good job from Andy this week

Awesome tournament for Grisha, hopefully we will see some consistency in his results this season. Nice to see

Grigor definitely improved on his shot selection, point construction, and patience. He just needs more experience to really know how to be really clutch against the top players, to know when you MUST make a shot no matter what. But nice to see his game has matured a lot after the off-season.

It was a very entertaining final. I hope the young guns really make their presence felt this year. Grigor had a great tournament, but Andy was too solid for him.

Congratulations, Andy!

Re: Brisbane Final: Murray def Dimitrov 7-6(0) 6-4

Grigor showed in this match that potential is there. He just needs to do better mentally in the big moments. As the commentators said after the first set, there was really no need to change anything but Grigor would believe he had to take more chances. He has a game that was causing issues for Andy - but Andy was on his return game so Grigor couldn't really get any quick points.

I must say that I still wonder about him in best of 5, which is when great players are supposed to shine. I wouldn't want to be the seed he draws early at AO because he hasn't had that breakout Slam yet and this seems a possibility here.

Andy Murray: 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist. US Open Champ. Wimbledon champ. Never been prouder of him.

Hope Dimi can get a good draw at AO. It's time to show something, lets go!

Re: Brisbane Final: Murray def Dimitrov 7-6(0) 6-4

Just watched the highlights. Sure enough they were all Dimitrov hitting winners while Mugray pushed the ball. Sure enough Dimitrov was serving for it at 5-3 and choked while Mugray waited for an error. Sure enough Mugray repeatedly served his way out of trouble despite having an ugly, technically flawed serve. Sure enough Dimitrov choked twice up in both sets and Mugray came out the undeserved winner against a rookie opponent.

Mugray is the anti-tennis, if he goes out in R1 of the AO we should thank the gods. How does the ATP even sell someone like him, when they show all of the match highlights of his opponent hitting winner and then say in the subtitle (ps: Murray won)? Saddest thing is seeing Fed fans move onto Mugray, when they couldn't be further apart, game wise and personality wise.
