In Djokovic's first season he didn't make the QF in a single ATP event, and reached no further than R32 in the slams.
This is nonsense.

Goffin was 6 months short of his 22nd birthday when he finally broke into the top 100. You make it sound like he was locked in a cellar all those years but it was his own fault he wasn't good enough to play on the ATP tour until last year.

Lets say you're right. The question is still what would it be reasonable to expect from this point onwards. Goffin can't go back in a time machine and make different decisions.

Lets say hypothetically, he's turned some sort of corner and is now on the way to being a top player. Is all that potential going to be realized instantaneously? Or does it take time to adjust to a new level of play?

Overrated - Raonic (crazy how some Nadal fans jumped on)
Overhyped - Dimitrov (every year big things are predicted, but mentally he's a clown)

Goffin - as much as i like the lad, i think he doesn't have enough for much more than that
Jerzy - very good CH player, but need to prove his high level ATP status first and often those find it hard to cover
Klizan - doesn't belong where he actually is imo.
Tomic - i don't see where all the big expectations come from tbh. Once his psychedelic style gets uncovered (1-2 years in ATP) and he's the next Stakhovsky, or OK, maybe Cilic

Rosol - this guy has played one superb match and even after months of mediocre game, he's still perceived as one of the main guys to cause an upset.
