I don't know if that's totally true. He might have more of a poker face now than he did years ago, and he's more composed than someone like Andy Murray, but he's still somewhat emotional during the match. Just thinking over the last couple of months- he was animated in the Shanghai final (smashed his racquet, screaming after he won the TB) as well as against Fed in the WTF final.

But maybe part of the reason why these guys don't go really crazy on court (except for Novak after he wins... ) is because they don't see the need to panic if they lose a point or a set.

Re: Johnny Mac: Fed, Djokovic should let emotions out

Lack of emotion is the reason I can't like Federer, despite his beautiful game, is the lack of emotion. And he has gotten more emotional, and I've liked him more as a result. But the game as a whole has gotten more and more robotic even in the short time I have watched it

I don't agree with him but okay fair enough, maybe he does have a point about federer. But implying that djokovic doesn't let his emotions out? is he fucking serious?

Mcenroe should just stfu, few pundits annoys me as much as he does. Some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is pure shitfest

Not of late. Fist pumps have almost disappeared, and forget about the fist pump, leg kick combo.

Nowadays, a vamos, a venga, a slight fist pump maybe is all you get.

I know it is not 2005 anymore, but come on. I think he will be more energetic and celebratory when he comes back.

lol he celebrated winning the 4th set in this year's AO final as though he won the match, it doesn't get any more OTT than that when it comes to showing emotion

A believe Nole's full on gorilla chest thumping after beating Fed in 2011 USO is one of the most emotional things I've seen on a tennis court.

Uhh let me think here.
Federer: I guess I could see the emotionless side...
Nole: Primal Roars, Ripping T-Shirts, Yelling.. Robot my ass
Rafa: Emotional Spaniard on and off the court
Murray:CMON, F*** ME!,

He probably wants him to do that sort of thing mid-match.

I still think to myself every time Novak steps on court: A racquet will be smashed today!

Djokovic, even in 2011-2012, I am still seeing anger, points of disgust, yelling after missed shots, destroying a bench at the RG final, etc.

Does McEnroe want them to do what he did where every call is a cinema trying to influence the linesperson to change his call? Does Mac want them to berate themselves like Murray? Borg's book, Bjorn says when he was playing, he was calm outer, but he was absolutely destroying things inside.
passion is not always in a negative form. whether it's being angry or being entertaining deliberately on court, Federer and Djokovic have been very robot the last year or two.... :0
