I can get everything but to wish someone an injury even as a joke is disgusting. No one cause to Rafa getting injured he did it himself.

Re: Uncle Toni:"it's ATP's fault if Rafa never won WTF"

Wise and truthful words from Toni once again. He is a great man, no wonder Rafa became the best player in the world under his coaching.

Quote:
- this year Rafa had a great first half of the year, then came wimbledon, Rosol deserved the win, but Rafa probably wouldn't have lost the match if he wasn't injured. Before the match they were more worried about the knee than they were for the opponent.
Absolutely spot on.

Quote:
- they'd like to play more on clay but it's impossible given that 2 slams and most masters are on HC.
That really is an issue. There should definitely be more clay tournaments.

Quote:
- Rafa would love to play Davis cup, but it will depend on how far he goes in Australia.
He'll reach the final, so guess that means he won't play in Davis Cup then.

Quote:
- speaking about doping, he says he's not worried since Rafa's clean, and today it's very difficult if not impossible to dope given the strictness of doping control.
Right again.

Quote:
- it's ATP's fault if Rafa has never won a WTF title since it's always played on fast (?!?) Hard courts. They should rotate surfaces. The problem is that they ask players where they want to play and most of them say they want fast HC since they are fast-court specialists.(!?!) The ATP should decide by themselves, they shouldn't be listening to the players.
They should rotate the surfaces, it's a bit unfair for a player like Rafa that it's always played in conditions that don't suit his game. But it won't change as long as Federer keeps playing.

Can't take a joke? Toni Nadal is a true gentleman who'd never wish an injury to any player.

Fedtards crying here like there's no tomorrow, NID. Their biased hate towards Rafa and Toni prevents them from seeing that Toni is more than right here. He is the guy to whom the ATP should listen to improve the tour.

They slowed down the WTF surface and still Rafa couldn't win WTF.

If Rafa/Toni want different surface then why not to move WTF from O2 to indoor grass in SW19?

Nadal back ... whining back (Tignor himself who is a Nadal-fan said a few months ago that he had realized that was what was missing from the Tour when Nadal was absent) and no journalist dares answer them and put them back in their place.

Can't imagine Lendl whining like that about Wimbledon being on fast grass in his time.

the Nadal clan has adopted a strategy which I thought was typically French : the more you moan the more you get. Or maybe it's just their natural mentality (like the French -PS I'm French-) but the result is the same

Are you serious? The number of grass tournaments is piddly compared to either clay or hard courts. There shouldn't be more clay tournaments, there should be less. There should also be less hard court tournaments but more grass.

Re: Uncle Toni:"it's ATP's fault if Rafa never won WTF"

I can't take too much offense from a joke like that. Tbh it reminds me of Roddick when he was asked "how would you beat Roger in Wimbledon?" after another lost final. His reply was something like "punch him in the face", which I thought was funny.

I do however feel that it is hugely disrespectful of Lukas Rosol. the "he only beat Rafa cuz Rafa was injured"-crap is really low. I don't know about the rest of you, but imo Rafa did not look hindered by an injury at all in that match. Rosol deserved that victory, because he played great, end of story.

Also the doping comments are ridiculous. These kind of things are damaging to the sport imo.

The whining about the WTF is stupid, but if we are all whining that Nadal is winning because of slower courts, I guess it is fair that Toni gets to whine that he does not win WTF because it is too fast.

Last but not least, this is Toni's opinion, it does not mean that it is Rafa's.

Re: Uncle Toni:"it's ATP's fault if Rafa never won WTF"

mostly one interesting info :

Quote:
The schedule of 2013 won’t change for Nadal who will play the same number of tournaments on hard court of the past years
especially that would mean all Masters 1000 tournaments except Paris-Bercy which he generally didn't play and is the week before the WTF anyway.

He's already entered Doha.

He also usually played Tokyo, but for that we will see later, I guess.

Yeah, there definitely should be more grass tournaments. Maybe they could move all Grand Slams to be played on grass, so Federer could servebot his way to CYGS in his fifties.

If he's not going to play on hard, he might as well retire.

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”
