Although, with Florian Mayer and Jurgen Melzer ranked 28th and 29th whilst both of them have a losing record this year, all of a sudden it doesn't look so weird.
you can figure it out if you look at the atp web site and check out their playing history/playing activity. the problem is that none of them are too consistent. it's all over the place. that's why, except top guys, it's so hard to even follow who is where when it comes to rankings.

Baggy to be so low is disaster.

Gasquet is next №1

Dimitrov is on here because he deserves to be 115. Not a good player and a mental headcase.

I think you misunderstood me there. I'm not saying Melzer doesn't deserve his ranking, I think every player deserves his ranking. I'm just putting things into perspective (if nothing else for myself) what a player has to achieve to rank somewhere between 26-50 roughly: play 20 tournaments, get past the quarterfinals twice or thrice all year and reach the second round once per month.

Actually, only 2 players outside the top14 won 2 (or more tournaments): Roddick (39th) and Seppi (23rd). Winning 1 tournament is a guarantee to be top50, unless you're namen Haase.

Tipsarevic playing terrible. He rides Djokovic's fame and cannot play better.

Ferrer deserves his ranking. It's just that there is a huge chasm between "The Big Three and a Quarter" and the rest.

Re: Current rabkings: which is most embarassing for the game? (new)

Any player deserves their rankings. It's extremely rare that a player can fluke into the top 20-30. The fact that someone's form has dropped (ex. Tipsarevic) does not mean that they did not deserve their points over the previous 52 weeks.

Grigor Dimitrov Newest Member of Top 10
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga | Marcos Baghdatis

Andy Murray | Alexandr Dolgopolov | Milos Raonic

Re: Current rabkings: which is most embarassing for the game? (new)

these days Isner, because he is so one dimensional.. Tipsarevic is a tanker but he isn't bad a player.. Monaco is ok when he isn't hurt (and he is a grinder). Cilic is also a bit overrated because he vultures.

Not sure why the Baker, Rosol, JJ types are even on this list
