Doesn't matter unless he gets 11 slams which he won't come near

Unbelievable that Borg only has 109 weeks as N1. Ranking systmen back then was complete shit. Half of Connors weeks should be Borg's.

I think Djokovic will surpass Courier, Edberg, Hewitt, Nadal, Agassi and Borg. McEnroe is a bit far for the moment.

Re: If Djokovic stays the No. 1 until October, he will overtake Nadal...

Federer is too much, but Nadal is within reach if Nole can stay as solid as he is now. Provided he doesn't crash out early at AO, he has Miami to defend, but could improve at IW. He could also gain good points in Madrid, and isn't defending too many points during the summer.

Nadal defends pretty much everything on clay except Madrid, and is a lot behind, Fed also has a lot to defend in the first 6 months + Olympics will come off. Unless Roger wins AO and/or Murray sweeps clay or something, Nole has pretty good chances until September

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Unless Roger wins AO and/or Murray sweeps clay or something - wishful thinking

Hardly that. Clay is Murray's (result-wise) worst surface and AO isn't exactly Federer's preferred surface. Therefore, he has a solid chance if he keeps this level.

LOL Djokovic in his peak years ranks up 1 slam and barely scrapes past 31 year-old Federer in the rankings... and the tards are already thinking about 17+slams and 300+ weeks at number 1...

If Novak takes AO he basically has it clinched till october unless he does horribly bad thereafter. Or someone explodes and sweeps majority of tournaments.

Brotree123: " He will also surpass Olderer and Nadull in slams IMO, easily. Adje Nole, you are the best player ever to play this sport... no one is as good as you "

Royemerson: "Might happen. Djokovic could rack up plenty of weeks as #1, similar to the likes of Lendl, Connors and McEnroe. Doesn't necessarily mean he will end up winning 11+ slams like Federer, Sampras, Borg. Piling up many weeks as #1 will be easier for a consistent, very rarely injured, all surface player like Djokovic. Hitting 11 or more slams will be harder. "

noletards are the one coming up with the ridiculous comparison with Fedrer
How do we quote messages by the way?

First post of brotree was clearly irony. Second post said he might hit 11 slams and above that it might be impossibile. I do not see any of those posters saying that Djokovic will have more then 17 slams or 302 weeks. I do not care about Federer records to be honest.

Wondering whether Novak can catch Fed in weeks at #1 is like wondering whether Stepanek can catch Nadal in RG titles.

This. From quick calculations, if Fed would win AO, novak would have to lose before the Semi to lose his #1 ranking.

you realize that's like a year away from now right...? :0 if he lost early at AO his ranking would already be threatened. I think he definitely has a shot of overtaking Nadal's weeks at #1, but like Statsracket said, don't get ahead of yourself
