You are just pissed because Gasquet beat your precious Andy Murray. You are having problems dealing with the fact that the a "mediocre overrated mug" can beat the almighty Murray. It's called denial.
ypu are wasting your time. Sapeomug has no clue what he's talking about. Besides Gasquet obliterated Almagro this year but it's obvious he didn't bother to watch it cause his god Murray was not playing.

Re: Richard Gasquet in the top 10

ALMAGRO VS GASQUET

ALMAGRO WIN LOSE: 291/189 GASQUET WIN LOSE: 298/185. Gasquet leads 1-0

Prize Money: Almagro: 7,173k Gasquet: 7,155k Ties 1-1

Age: 27 vs 26 Gasquet leads 2-1 (more precocious)

Turned Pro: 2003 vs 2002. Ties 2-2 (more wins in less time as pro)

Career Titles: 12 vs 7 (But Almagro vultures in South America)

Head to head: 3-1 Almagro (but lost this year in Wimbledon 3-0)

I see no big difference between both of them despite Gasquet being better on faster surfaces and Almagro on slower.

Hating Gasquet is much better than hating Murray, but that's not what my thread is about.

Yes, that is how rankings work. Your results are better than everyone, except a maximum of 9 others, and poof, magic, you are in the top 10.
Then the players below him are pretty mediocre too, aren't they?

Gasquet being in the top 10 has nothing to do with his Paris points. He lost in R32 in Paris.
That's not what I meant. I didn't follow much tennis around Paris, therefore I didn't follow the rankings. I only looked at the rankings for the first time in quite a while today. Then, I noticed he was in the top 10. Simple.

He's overall a better player, has more titles I believe

What? The last time Gasquet beat Murray was in Rome this year, on clay and Murray was not good in that match.

He beat Murray twice all the way back in 2006/07. Since then, the only wins he's gotten were a withdrawal and the one in Rome.

Murray has beaten him 4 times since then, 3 times in slams (twice coming from 0-2 down). I am not angry at Gasquet because he beat Murray More often than not, he gets humiliated by him

Murray has a winning record against Del Potro too (5-1) but I guess I hate him because he beat Andy on clay, right?

LET'S GO!!

He deserves it on talent alone. The guy is battling mental midgetry so this achievement is to be applauded

So what? A better performance than them means that he deserves to be in the top 10. Something which you need to understand.

It's about the performance in the last 52 weeks, not throughout your career. There is no basis in saying that Almagro deserves a top 10 spot more than Gasquet. As I said before, "Gasquet has a better record this year against the top5, the top 10 and the top 20. "

If any vulture arguments were to be made, they would favour Gasquet, not Almagro.

It is not just baby Sapeo, too many posters here are Gasquet haters, and have been claiming that he does not deserve to be in the top 10.

well they have no clue whatsoever.

and if noticed, users who start threads like 'player xxxx in the top xx' are often mugs of the highest order regardless of the player under discussion.

Hopefully, Spain wins their tie tomorrow and Almagro leapfrogs Gasquet, pushing him out of the top 10.

Almagro has two titles this year, two finals a good slam record. It's pretty much that one masters final that is keeping Gasquet so high, which is a shame.

Hopefully, after the tie, Almagro will end up in the top 10. Then that "he has a better record against the top blah blah blah" argument would be void.

Re: Richard Gasquet in the top 10

For Sapeod, Gasquet's top 10 ranking is due to the fact Isner and Monaco failed to defend their 2011 Paris semi finals and quater finals respectively

Now that I look at it, yes, that's correct. Gasquet only got into the top 10 due to them not defending points and falling below him. They fell, he didn't climb.
