No, they're not. Other people stress their body just as much as Nadal and are entirely healthy in the knee department. It's just bad luck. With something as complicated as the human body, a simple 1+1=2 won't do, DJ.

Re: Disappointment of the Year

For me, Jo's loss to Novak in the French Open, Delpo's loss against Federer in the semis of the Olympics and Cilic's implosion to Murray in New York would be the top 3. Delpo managed to recover from the disappointment due to his strong mentality but the other two haven't been the same since.

Re: Disappointment of the Year

For me it was definitely Tsonga not being able to close out that match at Roland Garros against Djokovic. It would have been arguably one of the biggest wins of his career. He had no shot against Nadal but he could have used that boost in front of his home crowd. I only pray that doesn't haunt him in future matches at that slam because Tsonga is becoming my 2nd fav player after Nadal.

he had Federer in the semi first but he was very beatable this year in Roland-Garros, and if he had reached the final, he would have been the first Frenchman to do so in Roland-Garros since 1988 (Leconte) : it would have been a big big thing for Jo !

and even reaching the semi defeating the world number 1 Djokovic in Roland-Garros would have been very big.

useless old guy

No, other people don't do it as much as Nadal. And no, it's not bad luck. People has being saying Nadal's gonna grind his bones for real since, what, 2005? This is not bad luck. This is not a freak accident. This is something very predictable and unsurprising.
What gives Nadal his success, also gives him grinded knees.

Re: Disappointment of the Year

Nadal pulling a disappearing act after losing to Rosol at Wimby. Extremely disappointing that a top player like him just gave up like that in humiliation. He did the same after losing to Soderling at the FO. But I'm afraid this time there is no coming back. Not close to anything like the comeback he made after the Soderling disappearance anyway. He may be done in fact.
