Use top 8 seeds so the very best can avoid each other until the later rounds but it's ridiculous to have so many seeds in slams.

5 set Masters finals again and more grass.

There are no stupid ideas when people are brainstorming.

But this would be an exception to the rule. This particular idea is retarded, fangirlish, dumb and profoundly stupid.

Instead of using actual clay, make it out of 100% dog shit. It would look the same

Point plenty for someone who says f**k. The player loses a point for every f-bomb. That way Mugray will learn how to shut his mouth I guess.

Seriously, why does this even exist? It's like giving tax cuts to the filthy rich. If you are a good player, you will get far in tournaments anyways. An unseeded players way to the title will always be harder than a seeded players way.

I suggest we do this completely at random from now on. So what if we occasionally have a Nole-Rafa R1 at Roland Garros or a Fed-Murray R2 at Wimbledon. Equal chances for everyone!
This idea has pluses and minuses. For instance, completely random can lead to the Top 4 exterminating each other in the first two rounds, and only one triumphing. The rest of the tournament would be boring since this guy would take out all opposition blindfolded. So, there will be only a maximum of 8 matches with Top 4 players in them, the rest of 119 will have no Top 4. Since this would be uninteresting, attendance would drop, people would not care, etc.

On the other hand, there's too many seeds to speak of. A decrease in the number of seeds would lead to more interesting matches during the earlier rounds, increasing quality.

Make clay so thick it is impossible to slide on/replace it with the fastness of the blue clay this year

you are right ofcourse. But this line of thought is based upon the conception that tennis is only fun when the top 4 is still in the tournament. I simply disagree with that. I mean it when I say I've had it with the top 4. I wish they would stop winning everything..I've followed tennis for about 20 years, of which 10 years casually, and 10 years (since 2002) like a completely obsessed idiot. Now for the first time in 10 years I feel I'm getting bored with the tournaments. First round lack tension, latter rounds have a "been there, done that" thing.

I do realize I represent a minority here though, so I'm not getting my hopes up

^^ No, it's a good line of thought. You're minority indeed, but it's good that there are people like you around. Top 4 games are predictable, but $$$$ is what the organizers, ATP and players want, so they actually need loads of fans coming to see the matches. The better ranked they are, the more fans will come. This is the bad thing about a powerful era when a handful of players dominate. You're one of those guys that prefers a weaker more unpredictable era, like the one WTA is having right now.

There's a lot of wrong with this post, I can hardly address it all so will focus on a key bit:

so you think tennis matches are only interesting when one of the current top 4 is playing ? This is exactly the kind of fans tennis needs

Re: MTF suggestions to reform the ATP and tennis in general

I actually don't hate that totally everything random draw, there's only about 1/16 chance that all top 4 players would be on the same half of the draw so you'd still more than likely get finals involving 2 of these players

The seeding system is too weighted towards advantaging seeds, people say well player X made this round at the us open, while player Y didn't, so there's a reason why player X is ranked better, but player Y may have played a top 4 player early while player X had an easy draw because of his seeding

No doubt just doing it totally random has its disadvantages but it does solve some problems

No... I don't, the majority does. Are you reading the posts around here ? Have you read the post exactly above the one you posted? It clarifies exactly that. You... fail...
