Re: World Tour Finals in a different form altogether - A Proposal to ATP

The tournament is ok as it is. It's only a shame that some of the best indoor players like Nalbandian and Davydenko can't participate because they don't get enough points during the season.

I actually like the idea of a wooden racket major- but not one with as much prestige and importance as the WTF

Re: World Tour Finals in a different form altogether - A Proposal to ATP

that thread is about proposal to entire ATP restructing and changes.....this is specifically about world toast finals which has been losing its charm......it needs a bit of attention because it is fast losing grip on tennis followers......

if the mods still have problem with this thread, go ahead and merge with that thread.....nobody will then be talking anything in that thread and it being a lengthy thread will be skipped routinely by the masses......

Roger Federer

Form is temporary, class is permanent

"The more you lose, the more they believe they can beat me. But believing is not enough, you still have to beat me" RF.

"He is capable of hitting shots which others don't even think about trying" Lendl on RF.

This thread would be funny if not for the fact that OP is dead serious. He's beyond help.

That SdG is allowed to post freely but quality posters like leng jai get banned says something about this disgusting forum.

this is why i don't like coming here......new ideas are never welcomed and instead of focusing on the subject, they are more intent on focusing on who brought the subject to the table for discussion.....

wtf is wrong with you bb clowns......wooden rackets is your favourite territory and indoors is your darling.....so what exactly is the problem? just the green clay i guess......alright we'll leave the choice of surface to you as well......

Alright I will answer seriously once and only once. I'm really not interested in a discussion with you because I can have a more rewarding dialogue with my bedroom wall.

1. The pros today are not used to playing with wooden racquets so the quality of tennis would be garbage and no one wants to watch that. The YEC is at least on paper supposed to produce the best matches of the year.
2. Give me one reason as to why we should hold this on clay, other than that Humbalito would benefit from it? There are enough clay court tournaments in the calendar already while almost no interesting tournaments are played indoors these days.

your second point is the answer to the first point.....on clay they get time to execute shots and tennis won't so ugly.....

they are top 8 pros in the world, they can adapt and adjust to anything.....we will also get to know who is the best at adaptability.....it will make for an interesting tournament if only they cut down the points and treat it more like a fancy tournament.....

now you can discuss with your wall.....

Obviously this is something you never do.

Perhaps the idea is that WTF should be a culmination of what's happened in the tennis year before, rather than a completely different sport entirely. You're right though, it would allow for some new and interesting tactics.

I've got a suggestion. Why not play a table tennis tournament at the end of the year instead? I've always wondered how competitive tennis players would be in this, and it wouldn't be anywhere near as tiring as the current setup. Plus, players like Nadal or Federer already have some prior match experience.

Re: World Tour Finals in a different form altogether - A Proposal to ATP

They could throw in an exo with wooden racquets and such things, however WTF would be a joke with that, would look like a circus most likely.

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”
