MTF suggestions to reform the ATP and tennis in general

Apart from dumping Round Robin to the cesspool where it came from and since our Fearless Leader of the ATP Mr Disney Etienne de Villiers cares really what the fans think.

It's time for some suggestions that Mr Disney should listen to, since he wants to make tennis more interesting for the masses.

- Instead of a TB, they should have a serving contest where they place a cone in the service box and the person who hits it the most will win. (GWH)

- It should be decided on a round of Greco-Roman wrestling. Labadze will then proceed to become the marketing dream of the ATP. (Merton)

- If Tursunov is playing, then he must be allowed to have a blog off against his opponent except if it is Federer or Nadal, cause they have to be in the final. (GWH)

- As for the clay they have to do as many 360s while sliding laterally and forwards within a minute and have a tennis ball balanced on their head. (GWH)

- Instead of hitting a cone, they should bring out a lion in a cage on the service line - most balls served into the lions mouth wins. Bring on the Spectacle, Disney boy... and serve that cotton candy... (TenHound)

- Another idea to replace the tie-break: they pick 2 random spectators in the crowd (one for each player). The 1st player who gets his serve returned by the spectator loses.

OR

No spectator involved but they can do something like the penalty kicks in football (since Mr. Disney loves the WC system). If the opponent can't return the serve it counts as a goal. (Saumon)

Helfant is a bullshit artist, lets see if he can do something.

I think they should split prize money equally with the WTA :)

Also, the ranking system should be changed. "Slams" should be worth.....mmmmmm.....maybe 10 more points than the other events. This way we could get some quality players at #1 like Safina or Wozi :)

Under the new system, Querrey could (rightfully) be #1.

widen that gap between the slowest courts and fastest courts... the atp doesnt do enough to promote different stylists to florish on tour... more big names = more tickets sold, and so, tournaments would not have to rely on either fed or nadal to turn up and gaurentee filling stadia...

30% fast courts - 40% medium - 30% slow ... how it should be, or near enough to...

sure, the itf is also at fault perhaps, but the atp does itself no favours by allowing era domination by two men by (in particular) totally phasing carpet out of the calendar... dont have to adapt too much to be great these days... nor are there the surface specialists that can pop up and do massive damage at certain parts of the year...

as it stands now, the surface season is: a) clay and b) other surfaces slightly quicker

well done atp... i have enjoyed your mass sterilisation since 2000... :clap2:

As i have said time and time again. Make Auckand the 1000 before the AO. New stadia..greta city. NZ deserves a masters. Otherwise Sydney would be fine (or Brisbane).

Schedule is fine. Players need to get tougher, or be at a Federer level of Scheduling. None of the top players play 250s or 500s anyway.

I dont like the ranking system either. That whole defending stuff is rubbish. One player wins a slam and gets injured loses 1 k points. Just rubbish. Its like the ranking system is designed to take mugs like Djokovic to the top.

Actually not a bad suggestion and the schedule is fine, players need to adjust to it better. Problem with your masters point is that all the top players would say they are injured and it might turn into the joke masters that Paris currently holds the title for, with Monte Carlo a close second. Would love to see one in NZ in the next decade or two, its important to expand the game in other countries.

Davis Cup should be strengthened playing at least the later rounds in the two countries. That would only be possible by reducing the shedule.

A change that would be revolutionary and would appreciate much by TVs would be a fixed duration for the matches, except the finals and the grand slams. Setting a fixed duration to the matches would be fun. Players who were lost would have to try to shorten the points and would be forced to play offensively (S&V) and risk in the returns.

Too logical.

My apologies for any inconvenience I may have caused you. I can assure you it was not my intention. Please answer the following questions. Are you bothered by a) the contrast between the pink and the background color, b) the color pink in general or c) the brightness of this particular nuance of pink?

Have no Grand Slams at all, make the net lower, the service box longer and the court wider.

1. Reform the surfaces. Wimbledon should be played on fast grass again and AO should also go back to grass, albeit slightly slower. French Open should become slow again, US Open should be slightly faster than it is now. Bring back carpet tournaments.
2. Tennis should only be played with a wooden racquet. They should never have allowed the more powerful racquets which encourage cowardly baseline play - ban them.

Mjau, white font on white background would be even better. It's equally impossible to read, but looks better.

#430 ·
Ban Nadal fans, make sure all their ISPs or pro x xies are blocked and no Nadal fans allowed in the court.

#428 ·
Blocked FH return winner Gooch style gets you a game, do it twice and you get the match.

#433 ·
Make the net lower.

#435 ·
Regulate racket technology... For starters, no frames above 90 square inches...

Lighter balls...

Carpet indoors...

Old school grass at Wimbeldon...

A grass Masters...

No mandatory Masters...

Best of 5 and no group stage at the ATPWTF and a better name than the ATPWTF...

Mixed Davis Cup...

Proper drug testing...

A masters in Germany...
