Sky Sports' Muzzatards do. Both players had negative W/UE count in the 1st set (Djokovic went an appalling 5/17) yet Fleming and Co declared the Scot won the set not because Djokovic played poorly but because Murray was that good.

This is the most lethargic and uneventful match-up within Big Four. Neither is able to take the initiative. Neither is willing to flatten out one's shots and go DTL. Yawn.

Mandy's attitude on the court is so nasty and negative. I love Roger and Novak way more.

Federer, rested with hardly any Davis Cup participation all these years, but the bandwagon jumpers called him the best on hardcourts. Can't blame these fanatics; no one else could win anything in Slams/Masters Series.

Muzza You will beat him nexttime, at Australian open would be just great for example.

No. This matchup has signs all over it.

OH yeah, the British media loves to play up the "new rivalry," as does the tennis media in general I suppose. I guess they absolutely have to because we're probably in for a lot more of these matches in the next few years, so they've got to play up what they've got.

Re: WTF RR: Djokovic beats Murray 4-6, 6-3, 7-5

I normally enjoy their match-up. This time, however, it was lousy.

They were never on at the same time. Murray was the better player in the first with strong forehands, especially inside out, and his backhand variety. After the BP's blown in the second, the script flipped and Nole slowly took over the match from almost every aspect.

All the same, neither guy played anywhere near their "best" throughout. There were so many easy errors regularly given up by both players on a whim.

Interesting, though, that the pusher once again ended up with more winners than yet another top eight opponent... Too strong, his hacks.

Agreed. Their matches are without doubt the worse between two grand slam winners for a very long time.

nadal-federer, nadal-djokovic, federer-djokovic are all way more entertaining that the pushing contest between murray and djokovic where the number of UE's are always sky high between the two players

Re: WTF RR: Djokovic beats Murray 4-6, 6-3, 7-5

I attended the match and it was a great atmosphere due to the drama of Murray playing at home and the see-saw nature of the match.
It seemed to me Murray hit the heavier ball and had a clearer strategy in the first set. Novak seemed to lack purpose.. Murray's serve was also excellent in the first set. Novak went for too much and made some careless errors.
At 1-1 in the second, Djokovic found some consistency and made fewer errors. Upping his level when down as he is prone to do, Novak came forward and took the game to Murray who began to back down, make more errors and get frustrated.
Late in the third, Novak did not let a Murray fightback knock his confidence. He just kept hitting his backhands with depth and spin and waited for Murray to crack, which Murray did. Then when Murray got chances to break back in the twelth game, what did Novak do? He found his first serve and then on the match point went for Murray's backhand and reaped the reward as the Scot made an error.
A tense and dramatic match, too many errors though. But interesting for the home crowd effect and the fact that this is being hyped as the next BIG rivalry which if it does become, we are in for some brutal and messy defensive fests.
