I used to hate fishing, but I'll make an exception.

Nadal will do as he pleases, and if he pleases he'll play and acquit himself well. What has it been? A six-eight month layoff? For most players that's touch and go when they return, but Nadal will make an impression if he plays. QF, at worst.

If Fed can't beat Nadal when the latter will have been out of the game for 6+ months and rusty, then he should retire immediately.

Lose to Murray in a 7 hour final.

So many fanboys to troll, so little time.

Favourite tennis matches: 2011 US Open Final & 2012 Australian Open Final, starring Novak Djokovic & Rafael Nadal, showing us just how far science can take humanity.

The US Open Final was especially enjoyable, with 'Why are there white spots all over my body?' Djokovic and 'Why am I sweating boils?' Nadal embarked on a titanic battle, concluding with the inferior player, Nadal, entering a sort of delirious state of psychosis. This allowed him to, while showing very little fatigue, consume inhuman amounts of energy, before he literally ran his legs from underneath him. This is truly the stuff dreams are made of.

Nadal won't come out until he's able to win a GS title again.

He'll get his ass handed to him by Murray or Djokovic in the SF.

In any case he will have to play his best tennis to have a chance, no?

He needs a soft draw early on. Then he can work his way into form and be dangerous come the 2nd week.

I honestly can't see how he can lose a set in the AO the surface suits him so well. Not forgetting he walks through Murray in the semis as usual and Djok and Fed will both continue to deteriorate

Well he had a 1 month layoff in 2009 and still struggled to make the USO SF and we know his results from that point on until the 2010 clay season...and this included a QF loss in Australia. I think QF is the furthest he will go but still impossible to say.

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Re: How Well Will N/Adull Do at AO 2013?

I don't think he will play. We'll hear something about "Not being ready". Perhaps he'll do exhibition matches like before Wimbledon 2009 to make up his mind if he's in with a shot. If he does and they go well, then he'll play. But I don't think he can start off great after a six month hiatus.
