Re: WWW WTF RR: Federer - Ferrer

Ferrer playing the best tennis of his life possibly and certainly has a chance although not favourite.

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 17 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.
Nadal 14 GS, 27 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 9 GS, 4 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.

Fed loves Ferru's short balls in the rally...Yesterday David kept it nice and deep absorbing the l'argentin power but Fed has the ability to somrhoe mix it up where Ferrer is always having to guess hence being late for shots and giving a short ball..which is why there will never be an upset in this matchup..

there is every reason. It's a matter of firepower. The ones you named had a surplus of that, Ferrer does not.

Lucky 14th time for Ferrer. To pull out an upset in 3 sets. Old man still playing too bad to hit through in form Ferrer on such slow court

Re: WWW WTF RR: Federer - Ferrer

60 votes to 11 is pretty funny, but let's not forget - this is tennis, anything can happen. Federer hasn't been playing convincing tennis since the Cincinnati final, and since then he's had a number of disastrous "off days." It's also likely he could come into the match complacent and overconfident of his chances.

Ferrer is at a career high - he knows it can't get any better than this so he will put his all into it.

I voted for Fed in two, but I won't be surprised if Ferrer comes through.

rookies in this thread, think they have met Fuckeduperer's ruining abilities, like Sophocles said, every guy who waits long enough gets the chance to play Gifterer so Ferrer has great chance to meet him tomorrow

Watch the "sportsman of the year" lose here, allowing Nadal to drop out of the top 4.

Re: WWW WTF RR: Federer - Ferrer

This is a match between by far the most talented player in this event (Federer) and by far the least talented (Ferrer), it's a no contest really.

Add to that Ferrer's willingless to bend over nice and low to his master and Federer in 2 is really the only possible outcome.

Ferrer has a chance. Small one though. His win would be a glourious day for tennis.

Re: WWW WTF RR: Federer - Ferrer

Ferrer is not completely without a chance here since he is playing very well lately. But just like Delpo's style suits David, Ferrer's style suits Federer. If Roger comes out to play, he will win with variety.

Federer in 2 tight ones.

Re: WWW WTF RR: Federer - Ferrer

Ferrer is in great form and if this would be maybe on clay i would give him at least small chance, even with that horrible H2H, but with the surface and everything he shouldn´t be much a problem, but i think Roger´s level is overrated, i think he is in bad form and age - tiredness from long season is catching up with him.

This would only mean he would lose in the QF at the AO instead of the SF

Re: WWW WTF RR: Federer - Ferrer

I'm not really expecting Pics to win, but if there is ever a time when he can beat Fed, it's probably now... I hope at least he loses in style.

I'm going to vote Ferru in 3, not because I believe it is the most likely scenario, but because if Ferru's fans do not even believe in him, who will?
