Re: Should The ATP Let Go of the Service Let?

no, you'd start having players deliberately aiming for the top of the net, especially players with weak serve, they'll use the net cord touch as a way to completely throw off their opponents

Players can't do that consistently...

In 40% of the cases a let would expose the server to get hammered back.

In 40% of the cases the let doesn't even affect the direction of the ball.

The players will aim at the net cord... i thought i'd heard it all

And yes - they should let go of this stupid rule. Even volleyball did looong ago.

Volleyball is so frustrating. Serving puts the team at disadvantage and there's a timeout whenever one team gains momentum.

No, but they should have a heigh limit in tennis. Players above 6'4" only get one serve. Solves the bot problem.

Isn't there another thread discussing this? Anyway the answer is yes.
