Re: Should The ATP Let Go of the Service Let?

Well they are going to try and see how getting rid of let's works at the CH level for the 1st 3 months of 13', but so far the players don't like it at all and I know the CH fans here on MTF don't like it either, me included, so it must be kept.

If a was in the players' shoes I would put up a strike till this trial is completely abandoned.

why?

Any normal person playing tennis at any level would be happy to get this stupid rule abolished.

All the ppl against this rule have probably never held a tennis racquet in their lives and have no idea what this atcually means, but also have too much free time to just troll around in forums.

Useless.

Lol, someone badrepped him for asking a question

I think the 25 sec. rule will be ridiculed, Nadal will make a big fuss when he loses a point and the umpires will subconsciously stop applying it less and less. In the end (a year or 2) we'll be back at point zero.

About the let rule, it will piss off many players when they lose important points due to it.

I think umpries will enforce the 25sec rule more likely now. Unitl now, after a warning players would receive a point penalty. But I never seen that happen. With the new rule they 'just' get a 2nd serve, which is still punishing but umpires will dare to go for it more imo.

Of course it should be left to the umpires discretion to be lenient after a brutal 30 shot rally in hot conditions. It will certainly be interesting to see if the rule gets enforced at the AO already.
